Of Course, Monster Hunter Wilds Players Are Turning Their Weapons Into Thomas The Tank Engine

Summary

  • Thomas the Tank Engine mods are popular across various video games with modding capabilities.
  • In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Thomas mods replace iconic weapons, such as the Artian Hammer and Artian Lance.
  • A unique Thomas mod also allows players in Monster Hunter Wilds to ride the blue train by replacing the Seikret model.

Modifying Thomas the Tank Engine characters is not a recent development in gaming. If a game allows for modding, it’s almost inevitable that someone will find a way to incorporate the train into it. The distinctive blue locomotive with a hint of sinister charm has been integrated into Elden Ring, Resident Evil Village, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and numerous other games across various genres.

Indeed, Monster Hunter Wilds has been available for roughly a month now and has sold more than ten million copies during that period. Interestingly, modifications based on Thomas the Tank Engine are starting to appear in the game, but these aren’t like typical mods that include trains. Instead… they’re unique.

Thomas The Tank Engine Is Finally In Monster Hunter Wilds

As a gamer, I often find myself swapping out significant in-game adversaries for everyone’s favorite blue engine – Thomas the Tank Engine! While many games follow this pattern, replacing the Tree Sentinel with Thomas in Elden Ring and using him instead of the Great Serpent in Sekiro, Monster Hunter Wilds takes a unique approach.

Over the last seven days, two modifications have appeared on Nexus Mods, swapping out two famous in-game weapons for a blue train instead.

In a simple rephrasing: The initial modification posted by GrizzlyAdams77 swaps out the fully enhanced Artian Hammer for a rocket-powered version of Thomas the Tank Engine, while the second modification, introduced by Balthorr, transforms the Artian Lance into Thomas.

If you think transforming your in-game weapons into a massive train could make gameplay awkward, then you might prefer the second GrizzlyAdams mod. In this version, the modder has swapped out the original Seikret model for Thomas the Tank Engine, enabling you to navigate the game freely by train instead.

In simple terms, the Thomas mods represent the most recent advancement in the peculiar Monster Hunter Wilds modding community. Earlier modifications included fusing Nata with Arkveld, stripping fur and feathers off the monsters, and, quite curiously, enhancing Alma’s attractiveness.
