Old Grand Theft Auto character appears to return in GTA 6

Moving on to Trailer 2, there’s a face that seems incredibly recognizable, appearing in an ad for Phil’s Ammo-Nation, a store reminiscent of gunshops often seen in Grand Theft Auto games.

In contrast, the figure who bears a strong resemblance to Phil still possesses both of his arms fully. It remains unclear whether actor Gary Busey has resumed his role or if a different voice artist is taking on the character in Grand Theft Auto 6.

In essence, we have minimal concrete knowledge regarding the characters in the game, with only conjecture from fans serving as a basis, even for the main ones.

This somewhat dampens the theory, but it’s worth mentioning that Grand Theft Auto has multiple timelines – the 2D, 3D, and HD worlds.

In a unique setting, only Phil Cassidy appeared within the 3D game world, and it’s not implausible to assume that Rockstar might have revised certain narrative elements from those games due to their age and the transition of Vice City into the High Definition universe, which is now more than two decades old.

It’s possible that Phil’s genes are particularly robust, leading his son to bear a striking resemblance, or alternatively, it could be that there’s a distinctive Leonidian type associated with gun ownership.

Despite some progress, there’s still a long road ahead for learning more about GTA 6, as its release has been pushed back to May 2026.
