Olivia Munn is mourning the loss of her agent, Tony Etz.
According to various sources, the actress’s cherished literary representative passed away on March 10 due to a rare type of bone cancer known as Chordoma at the age of 64.
2023 saw Olivia diagnosed with breast cancer. On March 11, she shared a screenshot of the news on her Instagram story and wrote: “This news deeply saddens me. This is my literary agent who tragically lost his life to cancer just yesterday; however, I don’t want him to be remembered this way.
In simpler terms, the former Newsroom colleague reminisced about Tony, a veteran agent at the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), saying he was one of the genuine and compassionate individuals in our industry. There wasn’t anyone finer or more considerate than Tony.
As a devoted admirer, I pen down these heartfelt words: Rest in the warmth of eternal love, my dearest comrade. My thoughts echo endlessly with his cherished family during this trying time. In a subsequent post, I express what we all feel deeply: Tony, our hearts are filled with love for you. May cancer be forever vanquished from our world.
For nearly three decades, Tony worked at the agency, playing a role in productions like “Grey’s Anatomy” and advocating for numerous screenwriters, directors, actors, and producers.
Two years back, Tony expressed the desire to pen his own obituary, sharing his story in his unique voice.
For over 30 years, I played a crucial role as a packaging agent, contributing significantly to the sales of numerous television series such as Jackass, House, Lost, Rescue Me, Big Little Lies, Jury Duty, and Tracker, among many others. Furthermore, I take great pride in being a resident of the most exceptional city-state within the entertainment industry. This statement was penned down, according to Deadline.
And many of Tony’s longtime clients believe that he was the best in the business.
Peter Tolan, co-creator of ‘Rescue Me’ and ‘The Job’, spoke about Tony. As a friend, he is deeply missed. As an agent, he was extraordinary; he protected those lucky enough to be his clients with a determination that most mothers might find difficult to match.
Meanwhile, Olivia, aged 44, grieves over his passing, yet she sympathizes with the struggles he might have faced due to being a cancer survivor herself. Regarding the actress from the X-Men: Apocalypse, she has recently expressed that she is on the mend, approaching almost two years since her diagnosis.
At TIME’s Women of the Year Gala in Los Angeles on February 25, she expressed to TopMob News that she is currently in a positive state, saying “I feel great” and expressing her deep sense of gratitude.
She went on to express that her partner, comedian John Mulaney, has been instrumental in getting her through challenging periods. She said, “Every day felt like a battle, but he was there, easing the hardships and turning the things that stirred deep emotions into less sad moments. He made me feel secure and sheltered.
