Suddenly, Roll7’s “OlliOlli World” and “Rollerdrome” have disappeared from Steam and the Xbox Store for purchase. At the moment, they can still be bought on the PlayStation Store, but it’s uncertain how long that will last. These games are published by Private Division, which was acquired by an unnamed party in November 2024 when Take-Two Interactive sold it.
As a gamer, I’m still eagerly waiting for my chance to dive back into the universe of Kerbal Space Program 2, though I can’t predict what the future holds for this game. Regarding the rollercoaster-themed games OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome, there seems to be no clear update on their return at the moment. It’s unfortunate to recall that the studios behind these titles, Intercept Games and Roll7, ceased operations last May, a fact confirmed by Take-Two Interactive six months later.
It might be analogous to the situation with Triangle Strategy, where it was temporarily offered on the eShop due to a shift in the game’s publisher, transitioning from Nintendo to Square Enix. Keep an eye out for more information.
Private Division continues to release “Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game” and “Project Bloom,” both originally developed by Weta Workshop and Game Freak. It’s said that a team of former Annapurna Interactive employees are now overseeing these projects under Haveli Investments, but specific details about their involvement have yet to be disclosed.
