In Absolute Superman #6, some insights were given about Kal-El’s arrival on Earth and the adversaries he has faced since then. Although a significant chunk of the issue centers around Kal-El’s experiences with The Kents, a critical aspect of the puzzle is unveiled towards the end, as the mastermind behind the oppressive corporation Lazarus takes center stage. However, it’s not a typical foe for Superman. Instead, one of Batman’s most formidable adversaries emerges, setting the stage for potential spoilers ahead. So, if you don’t want to know what’s coming up, beware!
In the Kent storyline associated with Superman, Lazarus Corporation plays a significant role by repeatedly trying to force the Kents off their farm using various methods such as manipulating weather conditions to ruin their crops. The arrival of Kal-El brings Lazarus and the Peacemakers to the doorstep of the Kents, resulting in an encounter that Lazarus will remember for quite some time.
Next, another enigmatic aspect of Lazarus emerges more clearly as Brainiac clarifies the progress of their mission, addressing the head of Lazarus. Then, someone ascends from a trench, and by now, it’s likely you have a good idea where this situation is heading.
Following his emergence from the Lazarus Pit, it’s none other than Ra’s Al Ghul who has taken charge of Lazarus. Now that he’s aware of Kal-El, he’s determined to either force him into submission or eliminate him entirely. The spoiler images you see above and below provide a glimpse into the upcoming events.
Ra’s Al Ghul stands among Batman’s most formidable adversaries, yet he is unique compared to other antagonists due to his deep respect for Batman and his abilities. However, their relationship has been marked by ongoing conflicts throughout the years, with complications arising when Ra’s daughter Talia enters the picture. Few have tested Batman as much as Ra’s Al Ghul, because his immortality enables him to plan long-term strategies against the Dark Knight, a tactic that other villains can’t easily emulate.
Watching Ra confront Superman promises an intriguing clash, but this Superman hails from a unique origin. The Superman we’re dealing with in this version stretches the boundaries of what the traditional universe’s Superman does. (Peacemaker from the last issue gave us a hint of that.)
One of the key aspects in the upcoming fusion of Superman and Batman’s Absolute versions might be this very scenario, and we’re eagerly anticipating how our version of Batman will respond to these colossal personalities. Adding Wonder Woman into the equation makes it even more intriguing, so although I hope DC gives them enough time to develop their team-up properly, I can’t help but grow excited as the days tick by until this story unfolds.
Currently, Superman faces quite a challenge. Not only is he being pursued relentlessly by an army of Peacemakers, but he’s also got Brainiac and Ra’s Al Ghul controlling the ship – quite a formidable duo to tackle! But if there’s someone who can pull this off, it’s likely Superman. Here’s the official description for Absolute Superman #6.
In a peculiar turn of events, decades past within the heart of America, an incident occurred that instilled fear and cast shadows over a tranquil Kansas village. This event would ultimately reshape the lives of a humble couple living in Smallville. Here’s your invite!
