On Sunday mornings, a fresh month started, and as a result, all significant streaming platforms introduced numerous new movie selections to their offerings. Amazon’s Prime Video is not left behind in this trend, and June 1st marked the addition of one of the most iconic action blockbusters from the 1990s to its library.
In this scenario, I’d like to share my perspective: I’m referring to the film at hand, which is Michael Mann’s interpretation of James Fenimore Cooper’s timeless novel, “The Last of the Mohicans.” This 1992 adventure movie showcases an outstanding performance by the esteemed Daniel Day Lewis, one that left a lasting impression on me as he portrayed a man navigating the complexities of the French and Indian War.
The movie “The Last of the Mohicans” was well-received by both critics and audiences, receiving a rating of 3 out of 4 from renowned critic Roger Ebert, and grossing over $143 million at the box office. Over the past three decades, it has continued to gain followers, and now has the chance to win over even more fans with its release on Prime Video.
What’s New on Prime Video?
On Sunday, The Last of the Mohicans was included in Prime’s collection, along with numerous other well-known titles. However, it remains unclear what else has been added at the start of June as Prime has yet to publish its monthly update. Regardless, there are a couple of standout additions that are immediately apparent.
On Sunday, several other movies also premiered on Prime Video, such as “The Greatest Showman”, “Platoon”, “Billy Madison”, “12 Angry Men”, “The Birdcage”, “Midnight Cowboy”, “Stargate”, “Brokeback Mountain”, “Moneybag”, “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure”, “Road House”, “Bloodsport”, “Hot Shots!”, and “Masters of the Universe”.
