Next month marks a fresh start for the live-action DC Universe, as James Gunn’s highly anticipated Superman film hits theaters. The DC universe has been in a transitional phase, filled with uncertainty, following the release of several films from the previous era that were aware they wouldn’t have a continued existence. Despite this knowledge, a few movies managed to captivate fans, such as Matt Reeves’ The Batman and Angel Manuel Soto’s Blue Beetle, which is one of the few DC characters being reintroduced into the revamped DC Universe.
In 2023, the character of Blue Beetle made his cinematic debut, with Xolo Maridueña breathing life into him in a manner that struck a chord with virtually every DC comics enthusiast. The film was a hit, offering a nostalgic take on comic books and maintaining a straightforward approach to storytelling, emphasizing character development above all else. Blue Beetle has quickly become one of the top DC films of the past ten years, and fans will be thrilled to learn that they can now stream this superhero adventure for free.
At the beginning of the month, Tubi included “Blue Beetle” in its selection, making it available for free streaming to all viewers. Excited fans can now catch the first appearance of their favorite character on the big screen through Tubi, a must-see before the upcoming live-action introduction of the new DC Universe. Although we don’t have an exact date yet, Jaime Reyes will eventually join the franchise in some capacity.
