With this growing demand, Webtoon has been strategically planning a wave of anime adaptations, boasting around 20 projects in development. Although it’s only recently announced, Webtoon appears to be moving swiftly on this front as fans eagerly await an anime adaptation of one of their top-tier action series. This upcoming anime is said to rival the quality of “Omniscient Reader.

Based on a post by @MangaMoguraRE on X, there’s speculation that the series Eleceed might soon have an anime adaptation. This is because a new website dedicated to the anime version of the series has recently been launched. While an official confirmation is still pending, it seems unlikely that fans will have to wait much longer for the announcement, as Omniscient Reader did the same thing earlier this year before confirming their anime was in production.

Eleceed Is Getting an Anime and It Could Be the Next Big Manhwa Sensation

Boasting over 398 million views on Webtoon and more than 2 million subscribers, the webtoon titled “Eleceed” might astound some to know that it’s the brainchild of the same creator as “Noblesse“, another megahit webtoon. This one was transformed into an anime by Production I.G in 2020. While Son Jeho pens the story, the appealing artwork of “Eleceed” is courtesy of ZHENA, who’s also known for “Girls of the Wild’s“. The series essentially revolves around the antics of a lethal assassin named Kayden, trapped in a fat tabby cat’s body, and a kind young man named Jiwoo as they engage in battles against evil. Although labeled as an action series, “Eleceed ” offers much more depth beyond its adorable premise, with a good mix of humor, character growth, well-designed characters, and, naturally, an abundance of cats.

Despite the lukewarm response to the anime adaptation of Noblesse, Eleceed could potentially revive fan enthusiasm. This series is currently one of the top-tier Webtoons and might soon join the ranks of popular manhwa-turned-anime productions. With its ability to captivate readers within just a few chapters, there’s every indication that the anime version would be equally compelling if well executed.

However, with both the anime adaptations of Omniscient Reader and Eleceed scheduled for release, it looks like Webtoon is shaping up for an exhilarating year ahead.
