As someone who grew up with the tales of Turkish folklore and mythology woven into my very being, I am beyond excited for “The Legend of Baboo”. The action-adventure title, inspired by these timeless stories, promises to transport players to a world that feels both familiar and magical.

From the October Xbox Partner Preview exhibition, one of the indie favorites has recently unveiled another sneak peek, showcased during the PC Gaming Showcase. The game, titled “The Legend of Baboo,” is developed by Permanent Way Entertainment and published by Midwest Games. It’s a deeply emotional story about Sepehr, a young boy, who discovers the strength in his connection with his canine companion, Baboo. Their joint mission is to protect the people they care for and their beloved homeland.

In this new trailer, lasting only a minute, we get a sneak peek into the gameplay for our upcoming action-adventure game. Initially, we see the character Sepehr, who not only rides Baboo but also customizes him with different outfits and accessories, as well as giving him affectionate pats. Throughout the trailer, we observe Sepehr solving puzzles and navigating light platforming sections.

The scene then cuts to Sepehr using his magic staff in combat against demonic invaders. We also see Baboo’s claws and super-barking ability be used to traverse dangerous terrain, such as climbing vined walls in dark forests and cursed wilderness. Sepehr can also be seen using his staff to ski down frozen waterways.

Overcoming game bosses grants access to unique magical assaults. Players can customize their preferred attacks and advance in a role-playing game (RPG)-style skill system tailored for both Baboo and Sepehr characters. This enables them to unlock additional skills and boost the strength of other abilities.

As an analyst, I find that the intriguing narrative of Baboo, a game in development, is deeply rooted in Turkish mythology, reflecting the developers’ eagerness to showcase and disseminate their rich heritage and culture on a global scale, primarily through storytelling and gaming.
