Among the highly sought-after Nintendo Amiibos released in recent years, a fan favorite from the Super Smash Bros. series is set to return due to persistent demands from fans. Since 2014, Nintendo has been introducing Amiibos tied to its Super Smash Bros. franchise. The collection was completed only in early 2024 with the release of an Amiibo for Sora, the final character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, from Kingdom Hearts. Despite wrapping up the Super Smash Bros. series, fans have consistently expressed their desire for reprints of earlier Amiibos. Now, one of the most cherished characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is making a comeback.
This week, listings for the Solid Snake Amiibo have popped up online at last. Initially launched in 2019, the Solid Snake character from the Metal Gear Solid series made his first appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series within Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Nintendo Wii. Unfortunately, he didn’t feature in the Wii U and 3DS installments of the franchise, but he did come back for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch.
Despite the fact that the Solid Snake Amiibo was previously released, its accessory hasn’t been re-released in quite some time. Given Metal Gear Solid’s enduring popularity and the higher demand for Solid Snake compared to most other Amiibos in Super Smash Bros., fans have eagerly awaited a return of this iconic figure. Luckily, Nintendo has responded to this demand and now offers fans another chance to add Solid Snake to their personal Amiibo collection.
If you’re interested in getting the Solid Snake Amiibo, Best Buy is now taking pre-orders for $15.99. This item is scheduled to be officially released on February 13th, at which point it can be purchased from stores or shipped out. It’s likely that other retailers such as Walmart, Target, and GameStop will also stock this Amiibo by mid-February, although pre-orders haven’t been announced yet.
