Tonight’s WWE SmackDown witnessed several plot developments as it prepared for Money in the Bank, but one significant shift on the blue brand also had repercussions for Monday Night Raw. A prominent rising star was lost by Raw due to a major roster change. In tonight’s SmackDown episode, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair were waiting outside General Manager Nick Aldis’ office when Giulia unexpectedly exited his office. It was later revealed that Giulia has officially joined the SmackDown roster, meaning she is no longer associated with Raw, having switched brands.
Aldis was equally thrilled with the team roster adjustment, sharing the sentiment that it offers a chance to outshine Raw’s General Manager Adam Pearce while also recruiting an exceptional performer. This move is set to weaken Raw, as Giulia has been prominently paired with Roxanne Perez in recent weeks, most notably in this week’s impressive Tag Team match against Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley.
Initially, it appeared that the two standout performers might form a team or align within a group. However, speculations about this collaboration were put to rest when Giulia abandoned Perez following their defeat at the hands of Ripley and Sky. Despite this setback, Perez is likely to recover, as WWE hints that he may be joining forces with Judgement Day, possibly due to his interactions with Finn Balor, which have been subtly shown in various Monday Night Raw segments.
On SmackDown next week, WWE has planned a significant role for Giulia, who will participate in a Triple Threat qualifying match for the Money in the Bank ladder match. Her opponents will be Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega and The Queen Charlotte Flair, making it an exciting opportunity to showcase her talents as she begins her journey on SmackDown.
Initially, Michin, Chelsea Green, and Alexa Bliss battled it out in the preliminary round for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. The contest was filled with exciting reversals and close calls until Bliss executed a Sister Abigail on Green to claim victory and secure her place in the event. Remaining are five more spots, any one of which will be taken by Vega, Flair, or Giulia. If Giulia manages to snag a spot, it would mark both her first Money in the Bank match and her initial appearance on a main roster Premium Live Event.
As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Solo Sikoa has clinched the first position in the Money in the Bank match on the Men’s side! Next week, get ready for an electrifying showdown as Aleister Black, LA Knight, and Shinsuke Nakamura vie for the second spot. But before that, don’t miss out on Saturday Night’s Main Event, where you can find the complete lineup right here.
