One Piece Casts New Sabo Actor

One Piece Casts New Sabo Actor

As a dedicated fan who has been sailing through the Grand Line with Luffy and his crew for years, I can’t help but feel a mix of nostalgia and anticipation as we bid farewell to Toro Furuya and welcome Miyu Irono as Sabo. With a rich background in anime voice acting, Irono is no stranger to the world of shonen action, having lent his voice to characters like Ritsu from Mob Psycho 100, Dr. Hedo from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Yagura from Naruto, and even Japan’s version of Sora in Kingdom Hearts.

After a significant uproar concerning Sabo’s former voice actor, Toro Furuya, One Piece decided to part ways with the individual who breathed life into Luffy’s elder brother. Given that Sabo is an essential character in the upcoming final story arc, it’s not unexpected that Toei Animation was on the hunt for a new voice actor to bring Sabo to life. In an official statement from the One Piece anime, the new voice actor has been confirmed for the role of Sabo moving forward. Be assured, the new voice actor is already familiar with the world of anime.

If you haven’t heard yet, there’s been a change in the voice cast for the anime adaptation of One Piece. Toru Furuya, who voices Sabo, is no longer part of the show. This decision comes from requests made by his agency and has been agreed upon by Toei Animation. They are currently looking for a new actor to replace him. We appreciate your ongoing support for the future episodes of One Piece.

A New Sabo Arrives

In the upcoming episodes of One Piece, Miyu Irono will be voicing the character that was previously played by Furuya. If you’re not familiar with Irono’s past work, they have lent their voice to characters such as Ritsu in Mob Psycho 100, Dr. Hedo in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Yagura in Naruto, and the Japanese version of Sora in Kingdom Hearts. The audience will first hear Irono in this new role from the 1116th episode onwards in the long-running anime series.

Given that Dr. Vegapunk is under scrutiny by the World Government and the Five Elders, it’s clear that the Straw Hat Pirates are headed towards a confrontation with the military. Sabo, who stands against the World Government as part of the resistance, will likely have his hands full as the story in One Piece unfolds further. New voice actor Miyu Irono is expected to be quite busy portraying this character.
