One Piece Creator Celebrates Baskin Robbins Crossover With Gift For Fans

Baskin-Robbins, a global ice cream giant, has joined forces with the Straw Hat Pirates from “One Piece” to create some Grand Line-inspired flavors. This limited-time collaboration started earlier this month and will run until May 8th. Guess who’s back in action? None other than Eiichiro Oda, the creator of “One Piece,” has stepped into the spotlight once more to offer fans a special treat. He’s even brought back an old character who had a significant run-in with a certain military man, causing quite a stir for Monkey D. Luffy and his crew during their initial adventures. Can’t wait to see what else this collaboration brings our way!

Eiichiro Oda has unveiled fresh, self-created art featuring Yu, a girl from the East Blue Saga who had an amusing encounter with Captain Smoker. In the comical scene, Yu accidentally collided with Smoker while carrying a triple scoop ice cream cone, leading to an awkward altercation since Smoker can transform into smoke due to his Devil Fruit powers. Interestingly, despite Smoker’s persistent pursuit of the Straw Hats, he showed kindness by providing Yu with berries to buy more ice cream, demonstrating that even characters within the Grand Line have nuanced personalities.

In conjunction with the fresh artwork, the verified One Piece social media page posted this message: “To celebrate our partnership with Baskin-Robbins, Oda has created an exclusive illustration of Yu-chan! Be mindful not to run into the intimidating colonel. Moreover, a free conversation scene between Smoker and Yu-chan (Episode 98) is now accessible on the One Piece Base app, which offers a unique way to traverse the Grand Line.

I’ve been a fan since my introduction as part of the Loguetown storyline in One Piece all those years ago. It’s truly amazing how Eiichiro Oda, the mastermind behind this epic tale, can remember even the briefest of characters from a universe teeming with hundreds, if not thousands, of anime figures. As we approach the Straw Hats’ final saga in both the anime and manga, I find myself eagerly anticipating the possibility that long-lost characters like Yu might make a reappearance.

The Ice Cream Incident in Live-Action

The second season of the live-action adaptation of One Piece for Netflix has wrapped up production, but no release date has been announced yet. However, it’s been confirmed that some storylines from the manga will be included, with Loguetown being one of them. Actor Callum Kerr will portray Smoker in this arc. As for Yu, it’s not clear if they will appear in the series, but since Oda, as Executive Producer, is closely following the source material, there’s a strong possibility that this character will be featured as well.

Currently, no information is available about the Baskin-Robbins crossover coming to the Western regions, but let’s hope and pray that the One Piece collaboration eventually reaches North America.
