One Piece Creator Finally Details Ace’s Warlord Takedown

As a dedicated fan of One Piece, I can’t help but feel a deep connection to the character of Ace, Monkey D. Luffy’s older brother. Although he may no longer be with us in the present storyline, his impact on the series and its fans remains as strong as ever.

As a devoted fan of One Piece, I can’t help but reflect on the enduring legacy of Ace, Monkey D. Luffy’s older brother, who may no longer be with us physically but remains deeply ingrained in the storyline as we sail toward the grand finale. Though he tragically passed away during the Marineford Arc, the masterful storytelling of Eiichiro Oda has found innovative ways to keep Ace’s spirit alive.

Ace’s death is still considered one of the most shocking and tragic deaths in the history of anime. Taking a “bullet” for Luffy, the fire-wielding swashbuckler helped to spur on Luffy in not only becoming king of the pirates but fighting against the World Government which has become a serious problem for many of the Grand Line’s citizens. As the final saga continues, Straw Hat fans hoping to see a resurrection might be out of luck but there’s a possibility that we see Ace return once more via flashbacks.

One Piece: Ace’s Warlord Past

Regularly, manga artist Eiichiro Oda spoke about the ex-Warlord named Hanafuda. In Chapter 1100, it came to light that Ace had previously defeated Hanafuda. Oda was eager to share more details about this past encounter: “He goes by this name – Hanafuda. His hobby is amassing Ancient Zoan Devil Fruits. The specifics of his current plans are still uncertain. He stands at a towering 514 cm tall. Another moniker for him is ‘King of Lizards’.”

In his latest One Piece SBS (Shounen Jump Q&A), Oda presents Hanafuda as the previous member of the Shichibukai, who was defeated by Ace and subsequently replaced by Kuma.

Based on the source material of “One Piece,” if Netflix’s live-action series stays true to the storyline, it’s likely that Ace will make an appearance in the second season. Introduced during the Alabasta Arc, Ace joined Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates in their mission to defeat the notorious Crocodile. Although no release date has been announced for the next installment, production on the live-action continuation of the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures with Netflix has already commenced.

As an avid fan, I’m excited to uncover more mysteries of the Grand Line before One Piece concludes. Keep me posted with the latest insights about the Straw Hat Pirates by following Team Anime on ComicBook.
