One Piece Heroes face a fate worse than death as Giants become mindless puppets

After the tumultuous Egghead Incident, the Straw Hat Pirates at last arrived in Elbaf, yet they’ve stumbled upon something more perilous. Ever since the Little Garden Arc, Luffy and Usopp had yearned to set foot on Elbaf, an isolated island within the New World. Now that One Piece has entered its Final Saga, their long-held desire to explore the Land of Giants is finally being fulfilled. Since Elbaf isn’t allied with the World Government, Luffy and the gang can freely roam without hiding from the locals. In fact, they were greeted warmly by everyone and even extended an invitation to a feast celebrating their arrival.

Yet, the blissful instances in Elbaf don’t linger for long, as the Holy Knights swiftly emerge, harboring an intense desire to undermine Elbaf. It appears that the World Government has been readying itself for the approaching Great War ahead of others. This is the reason why the Holy Knights seek to enlist the Giants, aiming to leverage their power in the war. The recent chapter reveals that Imu possesses the ability to bestow demonic powers and limitless regenerative abilities upon anyone by transforming them into puppets. Regrettably, Imu’s initial targets on the islands are the valiant warriors of Elbaf, including Dorrgy and Brogy.

What Did Imu Do to the Giants in Elbaf?

With the manga now delving into the second arc of the Final Saga, we’re uncovering more details about our main villain. The enigmatic Imu has caused a seismic shift in the narrative, and yet, there’s still much we don’t know about them. They possess an uncanny ability to manipulate Ymir Fritz from Mariejois, granting her powers beyond what she already wields. Imu is even suspected of using Ymir’s body to transform several Titan warriors, including Dorry and Brogy, into mindless, grotesque puppets. These transformed beings are significantly larger in size, sport horns and wings, eerily resembling the ancient giants who fought in the Great War 800 years ago.

Despite Loki carrying the bloodline of ancient giants within him, he doesn’t possess wings like those who have undergone a transformation among the Giants. This tribe takes immense pride in being valiant warriors, always prioritizing their honor above their lives. They may be strong and enjoy combat, but they coexist peacefully on an enchanting island, isolated from other realms. They’ve vowed to safeguard each other and their homeland. What Imu is currently doing, however, surpasses the atrocity of outright killing them.

Following their transformation into mindless automatons, they now yearn for the demolition of their own land – a place they once vowed to safeguard. The question remains whether the enchantment can be reversed and if the Giants can escape this malevolent influence. Elbaf was in a precarious state before, but with the Giants assuming these demonic shapes, the situation has deteriorated drastically. Regrettably, Imu intends to continue his nefarious plans, seeking to harness the same powers to manipulate all the remaining Giants, furthering the World Government’s war efforts.
