This is part of the upcoming Universal FanFest Nights event happening this Spring. If you’ve been keeping up with the anime scene recently, it’s no secret that anime and manga releases have gained significant global recognition in recent years. This surge in popularity has also sped up the licensing and translation process for U.S. distribution, making these franchises more accessible than ever before. Now, we’re taking things a step further!

At Universal Studios Japan, popular anime series such as “One Piece” and “Jujutsu Kaisen” have frequently been celebrated through unique events due to their remarkable popularity; however, these events were mainly limited to that specific region. This is set to change as the Universal FanFest Nights will extend to Universal Studios Hollywood from April 25th to May 18th in the upcoming spring season. The theme park plans to host a myriad of franchise-centric events, and among them, there will be special events for “One Piece” and “Jujutsu Kaisen” enthusiasts. At certain dates during Universal FanFest Nights, One Piece: Grand Pirate Gathering is happening! This event hints at an opportunity for fans to showcase their cosplay and interact with members of the Straw Hat Crew. Additionally, attendees can indulge in special One Piece themed dishes, as well as check out unique merchandise designed exclusively for this event. Moreover, there’s a chance for fans to have their own Wanted posters sketched, just like in the original series! So, if you’re even slightly intrigued, make sure to take a look.

For “Jujutsu Kaisen”, they’ll be running a unique event titled “Jujutsu Kaisen: Hunger of the Cursed” during Universal FanFest Nights too. This special screening at the DreamWorks Theatre will delve into Yuji Itadori’s adventure, showing him transitioning from being a vessel for a powerful curse to learning how to combat it and other curses alongside his peers at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. In addition to this exclusive viewing, fans can indulge in specialty foods and goods showcasing their beloved characters from the series.

This Is Huge For Anime Around the World

It might appear as if Universal Studios Hollywood making a move towards One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen events is a given, considering their popularity, but let me tell you, it’s actually a significant milestone that may not be immediately apparent to everyone. Universal Studios Japan has been actively promoting anime franchises through events like these, complete with exclusive screenings and rides such as the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen: Hunger of the Cursed. This move towards incorporating such events in the United States is indicative of the growing influence of anime.

The popularity of anime and manga has skyrocketed in North America to such an extent that they are now receiving their own dedicated showcase at a theme park. This is fantastic news for fans who have longed to participate in events previously only available in Japan, so anyone eager to attend should grab tickets while they’re still available because they’re likely to run out fast. It’s also noteworthy that this will be the first event of its kind at Universal Studios Hollywood.
