One Piece Reboot Anime First Look, Staff Revealed

As a longtime One Piece fan and someone who has followed Luffy’s adventures since the East Blue Saga, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming remake of this iconic anime! Having grown up with these characters, it’s incredible to see them being reimagined by the talented team at WIT Studio.


As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that during One Piece Day 2024, we finally got an update on the anticipated remake of the anime! The first glimpses and the team behind this new series have been unveiled! Initially announced towards the end of last year as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations for the One Piece anime, this exciting reimagining of the franchise is being developed by Netflix and WIT Studio. This fresh take on the story will begin anew with the East Blue saga, and since the initial announcement in December, there has been a veil of mystery surrounding its progress.

In line with the much-anticipated weekend, The One Piece unveiled a significant revelation at the One Piece Day 2024 event. This unveiling offered a sneak peek at some of the preliminary sketches for the upcoming remake, as well as an official confirmation of the key personnel spearheading this project. The artwork depicted various segments of the East Blue Saga. Regrettably, during its latest information disclosure, there was no announcement regarding the release date or a potential timeframe. What to Know for The One Piece Remake Anime

During the One Piece Day 2024 event, it was revealed that Masashi Koizuka from WIT Studio would be directing The One Piece. Hideaki Abe is assigned as assistant director, Taku Kishimoto takes charge of series composition, while Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda are responsible for character designs and serving as chief animation directors. Yasuhiro Kajino manages creature design, Eri Taguchi works on prop design, Ken Imaizumi and Shuhei Fukuda handle action scenes, and Tomomori Kuroda is the art director for this project.

The One Piece will be streaming worldwide with Netflix when it finally premieres, but has yet to announce a release date or window as of the time of this publication. Netflix teases their new take on the classic franchise as such, “Produced by the renowned WIT Studio (SPY x FAMILY, Seasons 1-3 of Attack on Titan) in collaboration with Shueisha, Fuji Television Network, and Toei Animation Co., THE ONE PIECE hopes to provide viewers with a fresh yet familiar experience, utilizing cutting-edge visual technology to reimagine Luffy’s adventures through the beloved East Blue Saga.”
