In the “Elbaf Arc” of “One Piece“, we’ve been constantly taken aback by new character introductions. Case in point is Shamrock Figarland, introduced in Chapter 1137. He’s none other than the Commander of the Holy Knights and Garling’s son, who made his first appearance back in Chapter 907, engaging in a discussion with the Gorosei about a specific pirate. However, at that time, viewers were unaware that he was actually Shanks’ brother. Due to this, numerous theories swirled around because the man didn’t bear the same scar as him. Much like how he appeared in Chapter 1134, arriving in Elbaf, he was also seen with a hood over his head, similar to Shanks in that chapter.
In the latest chapter of One Piece, I found myself observing a figure cloaked under a hood – remarkably similar to Shanks, yet distinctly different in his intentions. While Shanks strives to safeguard Elbaf, this individual, identified as Shamrock, harbors ambitions to subjugate the land. His recruitment of Loki, the Cursed Elbaf Prince, into the ranks of the Holy Knights was a strategic move, though Loki declined the offer. However, Shamrock hinted at another plan in the works. The recent chapter 1138 sheds light on their shared past, revealing secrets that have shaped their brotherhood.
One Piece Chapter 1138 Reveals Shamrock Knows About Shanks
During a conversation with Loki, Shamrock reveals that Shanks is actually his younger twin brother. They were parted from the Figarland Family during the God Valley Incident. Later on, Shanks visited Mary Geoise but opted to live as a pirate instead. Shamrock voices his disapproval towards the surface world and harbors a sense of sadness that his brother isn’t a part of it. This revelation about Shanks seems to have affected him deeply in Chapter 1095, causing him to shed tears after Roger shared something with him.
Roger played a fatherly role for Shanks, and they both lived life on the ocean. But as they prepared for their last voyage to Laugh Tale, Roger decided it was too risky for young boys like Shanks and Buggy. Fifteen years later, Shanks met Roger once more, but this time, Roger was planning to surrender himself. Before parting ways, though, it’s likely that Roger shared another secret with Shanks – he had picked up a baby from a treasure chest during the God Valley Incident.
1) Roger brought Shanks along with him, and it’s likely that he learned the truth about something at some stage. Given that Shanks is a renowned Yonko, it’s implausible that the Figarland Family remained unaware of his existence. The Celestial Dragons represent an elite group of individuals who are descendants of the original twenty rulers instrumental in establishing the World Government. Despite their exalted position, they are involved in despicable acts such as human trafficking, slavery, and numerous other heinous crimes.
Despite the general disdain towards those nobles, they share the same fear of the Marines’ ability to take action against them. Shanks has long enjoyed living among the common people without the trappings of a Celestial Dragon life. Given his character, it’s likely he ventured there to visit family, but found their demands for allegiance too high compared to his cherished freedom.
