As the anime adaptation of “One Piece” nears the conclusion of the Egghead storyline, it’s growing more apparent that the entire arc mirrors the Sabaody Arc. Characters like Kuma, Pacifista, and even Admiral Kizaru (recently seen facing off against Luffy), who reappeared in this arc, were also present during the Sabaody Arc. This recurrence of familiar faces is causing many fans to reflect on the past, with “One Piece” further emphasizing this nostalgia through a fresh, captivating poster showcasing the Straw Hats.
In their latest post, One Piece unveiled a fresh image showcasing the Straw Hat gang during the Sabaody Arc. The new artwork depicts the crew standing on a cliff, with Luffy, Franky, and Usopp linked arm-in-arm, excitedly marching forward together. At the center of the picture stands Robin, clutching a substantial book in her distinctive attire from the Sabaody Arc, which retains elements of her Miss All Sunday design. Elsewhere in the image, Zoro and Brook are positioned far off, accompanied by seagulls, while Sanji and Nami flank the poster’s edges. Last but not least, Chopper is spotted munching on cotton candy and wearing a swimming ring.
One Piece Animator Takashi Kojima Calls Back to Sabaody With New Straw Hat Art
It’s evident that the unique artistic flair in this new visual points to none other than Takashi Kojima, one of the most gifted animators from the world of One Piece. Known for his work on episodes like 1015 and parts of 1071 in One Piece, as well as the latest Egghead Part 2 ending theme, Kojima has also recently contributed to the captivating post-credit scene in Dragon Ball Daimaō. His distinctive style can be found in numerous other popular anime series such as Dandadan, Attack on Titan, Lazarus, Look Back, SK8 the Infinity, and many more.
Over the years, Kojima has been responsible for many of One Piece’s striking visuals and posters, including the illustration of Luffy for his birthday in 2023. Kojima’s artwork and animation are particularly renowned for their powerful poses and character expressions, earning him a distinct style that is easily recognizable among his followers. It was unexpected yet fitting when One Piece released a new poster reminding fans of the Sabaody Arc with the Straw Hats, given the beauty of Kojima’s artistry. In all honesty, it’s hard to find fault with such stunning work.
