I, an observer, am excited to share that “One Piece” is joining forces with the legendary Boston Red Sox for a massive collaboration. This week, Luffy will take center stage at Fenway Park, preparing to throw the opening pitch. Ever since “One Piece” celebrated its 25th anniversary, it has been ramping up the excitement for anime enthusiasts in unique ways. This push towards expansion has seen the franchise partnering with various sports teams in innovative manners over the past couple of years. However, the collaboration with the Boston Red Sox is undoubtedly one of the coolest yet!
In collaboration with the Boston Red Sox, this year’s ONE PIECE Theme Day has been scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd. The previously sold-out game (at the time of writing) will bring together 6,300 enthusiastic spectators. During pregame festivities before the 4:10 p.m. start of the Red Sox-Twins matchup, Monkey D. Luffy will be making a special appearance to throw out the opening pitch. This event is more significant than the initial collaboration between the two entities as there are now more activities for ONE PIECE enthusiasts to partake in.
One Piece Day Is Coming to Fenway Park
On Saturday, May 3rd, Boston Red Sox fans attending as part of the ONE PIECE Theme Day can expect some unique perks! General Admission ticket holders will receive an exclusive Red Sox x ONE PIECE baseball jersey. For those who opt for VIP tickets, they’ll also get a stylish hat to complement their look. Before the game kicks off, there will be exciting ONE PIECE-themed activities including a fan meet-up, picture opportunities with character mascots, and demonstrations of the ONE PIECE Card Game among other fun events. The day’s schedule is as follows (all times EST):
- 1:40 PM Fan Meet-Up (Sam Adams Deck)
- 1:40 PM Photo-Op with Monkey D. Luffy and Chopper Character Mascots (Big Concourse)
- 1:40 PM ONE PIECE Card Game Demo (Big Concourse)
- 4:10 PM Boston Red Sox vs Minnesota Twins (Ballfield) / Ceremonial First Pitch by Monkey D. Luffy
If it’s similar to many One Piece games that fans have enjoyed over the past few years, it’s reasonable to expect an exciting day ahead for fans who appreciate both sports and anime.
What’s Next for One Piece?
As an observer, I’m excited to share that the world of “One Piece” is bustling with activity right now! The anime series is currently airing fresh episodes every week, delving deeper into the Egghead Arc. You can catch these new episodes on Crunchyroll and Netflix. On top of that, Netflix is also working diligently on a complete reboot of the franchise, which they’ve named “The One Piece”. This new anime will adapt Oda’s manga from its very beginning, but as of this writing, they haven’t set a release window or date yet.
Netflix is currently developing the second season of their live-action adaptation of One Piece, though they haven’t specified when it will be released yet. They plan to reveal more details at their TUDUM 2025 event in May. Therefore, fans may not have to wait much longer to delve deeper into the world of One Piece, as there seems to be a lot more of this anime, movies, sports events, and live-action shows coming up for enthusiasts to relish in the near future.
