The recently released remastered version of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, following Capcom’s earlier release of Onimusha: Warlords, is now available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. In this installment, players take on the role of a new character, Jubei Yagyu, as he embarks on a vengeful quest against Oda Nobunaga in feudal Japan during 1573.
Yet, it’s important to note that he doesn’t fight these battles on his own. As you cultivate enough Affinity with four comrades by giving them gifts, they will rally to support Jubei’s journey. In fact, some parts of the story allow you to control these allies, and they offer valuable assistance during encounters with the demonic forces.
The upgraded version boasts enhanced visual clarity and smoother animation, plus some tweaks to the gameplay mechanics. For instance, players now have the option to decide when they transform into an Onimusha once they’ve accumulated sufficient Souls. Additionally, a challenging new mode called Hell Mode has been added, where any encounter proves lethal in just one strike.
Regarding the future release, “Onimusha: Way of the Sword” is set to debut in 2026 on platforms such as Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. For additional information, please follow this link.
