Unfortunately, Capcom’s game Onimusha: Way of the Sword didn’t get any fresh details or gameplay reveals during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase. But, the director of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, Motohide Eshiro, spoke in an interview about a new mode for the upcoming remaster, hinting at potential updates.
In a fittingly named difficulty level called “Hell Mode,” the concept is straightforward: any contact with an enemy results in your immediate demise. While certain team members have successfully conquered this game on this setting, Eshiro admits that he himself has yet to do so. Essentially, it’s not for the timid or those with weak hearts.
The remastered version of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is set to release on May 23rd, offering enhanced visuals and expected quality-of-life improvements, with specifics about the enhancements yet to be revealed. It will be available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. If you already own the remastered version of Onimusha: Warlords, your saved data can grant a free Samanosuke outfit for Jubei.
Coming up next year, you’ll find yourself immersed in the world of Onimusha: Way of the Sword on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. Catch a glimpse of the action right here!
