Publisher Shiro Unlimited, along with developers FakeFish, have unveiled their upcoming project, “Frostrail”. This open-world survival first-person shooter is set in a frigid landscape and is scheduled to release on PC via Steam in the year 2026 as an Early Access title.

A World Frozen in Death
Originally a powerful empire, the region now presents as a desolate wasteland, overtaken by an unforgiving chill. Corrupted by the Emperor’s pact with nothingness, its remains are haunted by tenacious specters and otherworldly terrors. Traveling in an armored, steam-driven train, the Penitent Gardeners work to cleanse the land of the cursed, offering solace to the lost souls while condemning the wicked. They search for redemption amidst the frigid wilderness.
Your Train, Your Last Hope
In the vast, icy expanse that surrounds me, my train serves as both sanctuary and lifeline. As I venture forth into this desolate landscape, it’s my steadfast companion, propelling me forward and ensuring my survival. The Eden Engine hums beneath me, its power a precious resource to be carefully managed and harnessed for the continued operation of my train. With each passing moment, I delve deeper into the remnants of this once-thriving world, scavenging for whatever resources remain.
As the weight of your battles increases, so should the strength of your vehicle. Reinforce its structure, create weapon posts, and enhance the engine to outrun the nightmares chasing you. Expand with additional compartments, crafting areas, and storage, transforming it into a mobile fortress against the cold and the terrors lurking beyond.

Beyond the train tracks stretches a world encased in death, its remains encrusted with ice and centuries. Traverse the desolate landscape in search of essential resources, salvage what you can from deserted towns, and force open debris buried under frost. Dive into perilous depths where higher stakes demand greater risks.

Choosing between risking death for essential supplies or staying safe and going without is a harsh reality. The frost seeps into your very being, the blizzard obscures, slows, and suffocates. Venture out solo against the undead or join forces to endure intense battles and forge a route through the frigid wilderness.
