As a lifelong advocate for empowering and uplifting women, witnessing the historic event unfold at Kamala Harris’ final campaign rally on Nov. 4 was nothing short of inspiring. The sheer magnitude of A-list celebrities joining forces to support a cause that resonates with millions of Americans left me in awe. Oprah Winfrey, an icon who has long used her platform to amplify the voices of the marginalized, stood resolute on stage alongside 10 first-time voters, urging everyone to exercise their right to vote.
You’re gonna hear them roar.
2024 presidential nominee Kamala Harris held her last campaign gathering on November 4, the eve of the election, as she squares off against Republican rival Donald Trump, the former president. As she made her appearance on stage outside Philadelphia’s Museum of Art, she was accompanied by a star-studded group of celebrities.
One significant figure shining brightly during the event was Oprah Winfrey, accompanied by a group of ten individuals voting for the first time.
The media personality, dressed in a white suit, emphasized, “It’s crucial for you to take action for yourself, your loved ones, and everything dear to you by exercising your right to vote. If you are tuned into me at this moment and haven’t yet voted, it’s high time you did so. I understand some of you might feel exhausted and wounded, but let me assure you, every single vote truly matters.
That evening showcased acts from several famous artists such as Katy Perry, Jon Bon Jovi, Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin, and Lady Gaga.
In the case of Katy, she delivered her performance live over a stream directly from the Carrie Blast Furnaces in Pittsburgh. Her setlist included the tunes “Dark Horse,” “Part of Me,” and “Firework.
Four years have passed since I took on the role of motherhood, and the Grammy winner expressed this after her performance. The precious fruit of my partnership with Orlando Bloom, our 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, is the motivation behind my vote for Kamala Harris. I am confident that she will safeguard Daisy’s future and the futures of many other children like her.
Meanwhile, Gaga delivered an emotional performance of “America the Beautiful” and “Edge of Glory,” followed by a heartfelt statement emphasizing the importance of women’s influence in this election.
She stated that for over half the nation’s existence, women have been voiceless. Despite this, we were the ones nurturing children, maintaining households, and backing men in their decision-making processes. However, tomorrow, women will have a role in shaping this decision.
As a humble individual, today I carry within me the indomitable spirit of the resilient women who have shaped my being.
