Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap Announced, Launches Early 2025

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of tower defense games, but none quite like the Orcs Must Die! series. The announcement of Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap has me absolutely buzzing with excitement.

Robot Entertainment’s “Orcs Must Die!” series has introduced its fifth part, titled “Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap.” Developed using Unreal Engine 5, this installment is promoted as the significant advancement of the popular third-person tower defense action game franchise. Watch the reveal trailer here, kindly shared by IGN.

In Orcs Must Die! Unleashed, the Deathtrap expansion will bring fresh gameplay elements and features never seen before in the franchise. This includes the option for four-player cooperative mode and roguelike advancement systems. Moreover, you’ll encounter several new playable characters, each with distinct abilities. Additionally, anticipate upgraded physics, graphics, combat mechanics, and other refinements.

“Robot Entertainment’s co-founder and CEO Patrick Hudson announces the newest addition to the Orcs Must Die! series with great excitement: ‘We’re thrilled to present Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap.’ Our aim has consistently been to bring enjoyable and inventive experiences. By taking fan feedback into account, we’ve managed to innovate within a thirteen-year-old franchise while retaining the signature chaotic gameplay and humorous tone. Introducing four-player co-op, new heroes with distinct abilities, increased level diversity, and roguelike progression options, this installment promises an even more thrilling orc-slaughtering adventure.”

As an avid gamer, I’m excitedly looking forward to playing Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap in early 2025. This new installment will be exclusively available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Unfortunately, there’s no official announcement yet regarding a potential release on other platforms. Keep an eye out for further updates as more details are expected to emerge in the upcoming weeks and months.
