The thought of seeing him back in action, albeit briefly, is like reliving a favorite episode all over again.
A former star from the original Suits series is joining the cast of Suits LA. According to Deadline, Gabriel Macht, who portrayed lawyer Harvey Specter in the original USA series, will be moving to the West Coast for a spinoff. The report states that Macht will reprise his role in a three-episode run, but further details about this story arc are not yet known. Macht hinted at his return on Instagram by donning Harvey Specter’s suit and shoes and captioning the post “When an old friend needs help…it’s time to fix things and make them right.” You can view that post, which was set to the Suits theme song, below.
mark my words, I can’t wait until Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET when NBC airs the long-anticipated spinoff of Suits, titled Suits LA! This series was given the green light last year after the incredible success of the original Suits on Netflix. The show brings back Stephen Amell from Arrow as Ted Black, a former New York prosecutor now leading a law firm in Los Angeles. With his firm facing a critical juncture, Ted is forced to take on a role he’s long despised, testing not only his loyalties but also those of the remarkable cast of characters around him. As they navigate their complex web of personal and professional relationships, it’s clear that this series, created by original Suits mastermind Aaron Korsh, is set to be another captivating legal drama!
Joining the new series for just a few episodes provides fans with long-awaited and much-anticipated moments: cameos from the original cast members, ever since the announcement of Suits LA last year. Many original Suits actors have previously shown interest in reprising their roles for the spinoff, which shares the same general universe as Suits, rather than being a direct continuation. Even former Suits actress Abigail Spencer has hinted that characters from the Suits universe may return.
Spencer had stated earlier, “Indeed! Each season, whenever I was free, they’d invite me again.” He also mentioned, regarding a potential spinoff, “Anyone from the Suits world might have the chance to return.
It’s intriguing to contemplate how the character played by Gabriel Macht, similar to Harvey Specter on Suits, might transition into Suits LA. In the final episode of Suits, we saw Harvey bidding farewell to his days as a corporate lawyer and the law firm to relocate to Seattle with his wife, Donna (portrayed by Sarah Rafferty), who is also an executive at the firm, to work for a legal clinic led by Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). Interestingly, in real life, Macht and Adams played their Suits characters together in a T-Mobile commercial earlier this year. The upcoming appearance of Macht in Suits LA will signify his comeback to television after a hiatus since the end of Suits in 2019, as he took some time off from acting. It’s yet to be determined if other original cast members of Suits will feature in the spinoff, although they did reunite at this year’s Golden Globes.
