Back in 2024, I, a die-hard fan, found myself standing in the electric atmosphere of the MTV VMAs, a night I’d been eagerly anticipating for months. The stage was set by none other than the captivating Megan Thee Stallion. As the clock struck 9 PM, the “Firework” singer made her grand entrance, ready to light up the stage with a jaw-dropping nine-minute extravaganza of her most iconic tracks. All I could do was watch in awe as she prepared to receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award. What an unforgettable night it was!
To begin Perry’s show, the star from “Pirates of the Caribbean” presented his “unable-to-resist” fiancée to the audience, expressing, “Many of you fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I fell in love with her as Katherine Hudson. She is known to the world as a superstar who infuses love, radiance, and her distinct humor into each song she composes and music video she produces. To me, she is a mother, a partner, who shares that same love and happiness within our family.
However, while the 39-year-old captivated on stage with performances of “Dark Horse,” “E.T.,” “California Gurls,” “I Kissed a Girl,” and “Firework” among others, spectators couldn’t help but notice Bloom in the crowd due to his expressive facial expressions.
To put it simply, Perry, who has a 4-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove with Bloom, and collaborator Doechii, ignited excitement with their steamy song “I’m His, He’s Mine”. They shared a passionate kiss on stage before the camera focused on the British actor, who seemed to be scrutinizing the performance while seated next to a cheerful, singing Paris Hilton.
Multiple times during the mix of tunes, the camera returned to the actor from “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, who stood out conspicuously amidst the throng of dancing and singing spectators due to his stationary position.
Of course, the internet took notice and delighted in Bloom’s reactions.
One fan remarked humorously, “Orlando Bloom’s response to Katy Perry moving her derriere in various ways at the #VMAs was quite legendary, haha!” Another fan speculated playfully, “It seemed like Orlando Bloom might not have been acquainted with the tune ‘California Gurls.’
