Ostracized

Wandering down this road that we call life hasn’t always been a breeze for Danielle Fishel.

Indeed, the actress who starred in Boy Meets World has disclosed that her role as Topanga in the spinoff series Girl Meets World, which debuted in 2014, approximately 15 years following the conclusion of the original show, brought a unique set of difficulties with it.

Danielle shared on her podcast “Pod Meets World” on February 24th that those three years were extremely challenging. To put it another way, the enjoyable times from the set of “Boy Meets World” weren’t replicated during the filming of “Girl Meets World”. It simply wasn’t as much fun.

She went on to say, “It was quite chaotic there. I felt incredibly isolated. I faced a great deal of criticism. I experienced a variety of emotions while working on that film set.

TopMob News has reached out to Disney for comment and has not heard back.

During a heated argument with her former co-star Maitland Ward, the 43-year-old expressed her thoughts about “Girl Meets World,” a show that featured Sabrina Carpenter, Rowan Blanchard, and the original cast members Ben Savage and Rider Strong. This exchange took place due to Danielle being accused by Maitland of not interacting with her on the spinoff series.

She clarified to Maitland, “It wasn’t me behaving in a casual, playful manner like Danielle, running about and greeting people with handshakes and kisses. I apologize if you misunderstood and thought there was some personal issue between us.

In response, Maitland alleged that Danielle acted frostily towards her on the filming location, but she couldn’t figure out the reason behind it.

In our conversation, Danielle, I sensed a certain vibe from you regarding the subject at hand. To be honest, I couldn’t quite grasp what was going on between us because we seemed to have a bit of tension. Perhaps I misinterpreted your signals, but there was certainly an unusual dynamic present.

In a moment of intense debate, the two actresses found themselves at odds, eventually concluding that they would respectfully disagree with each other. Danielle explained to Maitland, “I apologize if it seemed like the issue was about you. Our perspectives are distinct, and both are valid.

However, the discussion among the group, consisting of podcasters, Boy Meets World alumni Will Friedle and Rider, didn’t stop at just this topic as they also delved into the allegation that they disliked Ben.

But Will fired back, claiming it was Ben that refused to speak with them.

Ben is among the most significant individuals I’ve encountered throughout my life, and it’s really difficult for me because he refuses to communicate with us,” as the Kim Possible alum clarified. “And that’s the situation: He simply won’t talk to us.

Will noted that the reason for the estrangement still remains a mystery.

Over the past three years, I’ve kept every message, and just recently during a chat with Ben, he suddenly disappeared on me. It’s as if one morning, 48-year-old Ben had an abrupt change of heart and decided, ‘I no longer wish to be part of Will’s life.’ Regrettably, he never shared the reason for this unexpected decision.

Savage played Cory Matthews on Boy Meets World, which anchored ABC’s TGIF lineup from 1993 to 2000.

After graduating from Stanford in 2004 with a political science degree, he made appearances on TV shows like “Party of Five” and “Chuck”, as well as some independent films. Later, he reconnected with his television partner Danielle Fishel to reprise their roles in the 2014 Disney Channel series spin-off titled “Girl Meets World”.

Following the conclusion of that series in 2017, Savage (who is the older brother of Fred Savage, star of “The Wonder Years”) has been seen on shows such as “The Leftovers”, “Speechless”, “Criminal Minds” (as a young Jason Gideon), and “Homeland” (portraying younger versions of both Saul and a Mandy Patinkin character). Although he hasn’t joined his co-stars on their “Pod Meets World” podcast, Savage and Fishel reconnected in 2021 for a romantic comedy parody promoting Panera Bread as an ideal date spot.

For several years, his Instagram suggested that he had a partner who was marriage material. However, he maintained her identity as private until he proposed and revealed in March 2023 that he had married his long-term girlfriend, Tessa Angermeier.

In 2022, Savage attempted but failed to secure a position on the West Hollywood City Council, while in 2024, he aimed for a seat in Congress, though he did not succeed.

Or more concisely:

Savage tried and failed to join the West Hollywood City Council in 2022 and ran for Congress in 2024 without success.

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but marvel at Danielle Fishel’s incredible journey. From embodying Topanga Lawrence (later Matthews) on the beloved “Boy Meets World” and its spin-off, “Girl Meets World,” to gracing our screens as a correspondent on The Tyra Banks Show and hosting Style Network’s The Dish, she has been nothing short of extraordinary on TV. What truly astounds me is her dedication, evident in her return to college at the age of 27, where she eventually earned her degree in 2012. Simply put, Danielle Fishel continues to inspire me with her talent and tenacity.

She initially encountered her first spouse, Tim Belusko, at school. They were married for a span of two years before parting ways amicably in 2016 through a low-key divorce. Later, in the year 2018, she tied the knot with Drop the Mic host, Jensen Karp. Notable personalities such as Savage (who sent his warm congratulations to his preferred TV spouse on her engagement) and Will Friedle were present at their wedding.

In June 2019, Fishel and Karp became parents to a son named Adler, while their second son Keaton joined the family in August 2021. The stylish actress further expanded her career by introducing a hair care line called Be Free by Danielle Fishel, and following her directorial roles on ‘Girl Meets World’, she continued to work behind the camera, directing episodes for shows such as Disney Channel’s ‘Sydney to the Max’, ‘Raven’s Home’, and ‘Lopez vs. Lopez’.

Apart from her role, She additionally collaborates as a co-host on the podcast named “Pod Meets World”, alongside Friedle and Rider Strong. During an episode that aired in August 2024, Fishel disclosed that she had been diagnosed with DCIS – a type of breast cancer often referred to as “stage zero” cancer.

She assured everyone, “I’ll be alright. I’m getting a surgery to take it out. After that, I’ll need some additional care.

Following his role as Shawn Hunter on “Boy Meets World”, Strong is particularly recognized for starring in Eli Roth’s 2002 horror sleeper hit, “Cabin Fever”, and its 2009 sequel. He also played a significant part in the brief run of “Pepper Dennis” and provided the voice for Brick Flagg in the animated series “Kim Possible”. Subsequently, he reprised his role as Shawn in seven episodes of “Girl Meets World”.

Apart from being an actor, Strong has also ventured behind the camera, penning scripts, directing, and producing several short films, as well as the 2017 TV movie titled “Micah the Jerk” (originally intended for his brother Shiloh Strong, who was initially considered for the role of Eric Matthews). His most recent directorial project, “Typhoon—We’re In It,” won Best Music Video at the Vortex Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror Film Festival in October 2022.

In 2013, Strong married Alexandra Barreto and their son, Indigo, was born in December 2014.

In a recent appearance on “Girl Meets World,” Friedle reprised his role as Eric Matthews, but during that time, his voice has become widely recognized in various animated series such as “Kim Possible,” “Teen Titans Go!,” “DC Super Hero Girls,” Disney XD’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” (as Star Lord Peter Quill), and “The Legend of Vox Machina.

Prior to attending the wedding of Fishel and Karp, he had served as best man at the 2004 wedding of “Step by Step” star Jason Marsden, marking one of the highlights of TGIF cross-over programming. In December 2019, he showcased a T-shirt bearing the likeness of Topanga, a nod to his future podcast partner’s hair care line.

Friedle married Susan Martens in 2016.

Daniel, known for his two Emmy awards from the show St. Elsewhere, being one of the original cast members in the musical 1776 and providing the voice for K.I.T.T. on Knight Rider, gained a fresh wave of admirers by portraying Mr. Feeny on the TV series Boy Meets World.

Following his tenure as Screen Actors Guild president from 1999 to 2001, Daniels went on to appear as a guest star in shows like Scrubs, Boston Legal, The Closer, and had a recurring role on Grey’s Anatomy in 2012. At 97 years old, his latest on-screen acting gig was revisiting the character of Mr. Feeny on Girl Meets World. He still attends fan conventions, but he also lent his voice to K.I.T.T. for the 2020 movie Superintelligence.

A New York-born individual has been wedded to the actress Bonnie Bartlett since 1951, and together they have raised two sons.

Following her role in “Boy Meets World,” the native of Chicago became well-known for portraying Mrs. Winterbourne on “Charmed” and made a few appearances in “Girl Meets World” as Amy Matthews, Cory and Eric’s mother.

In real life she’s mom to daughter Jessica and son Aaron with editor husband John Randle.

Over the years, Russ has kept a busy schedule as an actor, having worked on films like “The Right Stuff” and “American History X.” Following his role as Alan Matthews on “Boy Meets World,” he’s appeared in shows such as “Boston Legal,” “The Young and the Restless,” “90210,” “Colony,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Bosch,” “9-1-1” and “Animal Kingdom.” More recently, he reprised his character on “Girl Meets World” alongside his TV wife, Betsy Randle.

Behind the scenes he’s dad to a son and daughter with wife Clare Wren.

According to Looper, Strong stated at Wizard World Comic Con that Minkus’ character was removed from Boy Meets World due to the overwhelming popularity of Steve Urkel on Family Matters. The creators of Boy Meets World felt it wasn’t necessary to have two similarly comic and nerdy characters in the show.

In a career that began as child actor Chuckie Lee on the show “The Torkelsons”, Norris later graduated from Wake Forest and took on the role of Marvin “Mouth” McFadden in the long-running drama series “One Tree Hill” on The CW. He also reprised his character Minkus for several episodes of “Girl Meets World”. More recently, he has made appearances on a few episodes of “The Walking Dead”, worked under the direction of David Fincher in “Zodiac” and “Gone Girl”, and featured in the 2020 WWII action drama “Greyhound” alongside Tom Hanks.

He’s been married to wife Andrea since 2011.

As Shawn’s older half-brother Jack Hunter, I’ve had quite an exciting journey in the world of entertainment. Alongside my real-life siblings Andrew and Joey Lawrence, I graced the screen on the sitcom “Brotherly Love.” Over the years, you might have seen me in various independent films, and as a guest star on shows like “Boston Public,” “CSI: Miami,” “Workaholics,” “Melissa and Joey,” and even “Hawaii 5-0.” During the festive season, I’ve been lucky enough to be part of heartwarming holiday films such as “Mistletoe Mixup” and “Christmas on Repeat.

Lawrence tied the knot with professional dancer Cheryl Burke, a star from “Dancing With the Stars,” on May 23, 2019, which was 13 years after their initial meeting and courtship (during a decade-long hiatus). They parted ways in 2022, and currently, Lawrence is in a relationship with TLC singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas.

McGee has appeared in several TV movies made for broadcast and short-lived television shows. Additionally, McGee reprised the character of Angela, Shawn’s girlfriend, on an episode of “Girl Meets World,” despite the fact that her departure from “Boy Meets World” was not under the best of circumstances.

In 2022 on “Pod Meets World”, McGee revealed to Fishel, Strong and Friedle that they had been informed their showrunner had been instructed not to include her in the 2000 series finale’s script. This unexpected decision led to Angela’s early exit to Europe, while the others were wrapping up storylines.

According to Friedel, it was never an issue, while McGee expressed regret over any past tension with Fishel, acknowledging that they could have worked better together during the show’s duration. Fishel concurred, suggesting they could have supported one another more.

Previously wedded to Courtland Davis, McGee has once again joined the circle of fan conventions and celebrated Daniels’ 96th birthday with the previously mentioned group on March 31, 2023. In addition to being a singer, artist, and mother, she is also the proud parent of Ramia, Langston, and Ezra.

2024 saw McGee sharing the news of her fourth pregnancy at the age of 54. However, later in the same year, she disclosed that she had experienced a miscarriage.

McGee admitted during an episode of The Tamron Hall Show in September that they had a miscarriage. This wasn’t something we anticipated, as it happened towards the end of the first trimester. Unfortunately, we don’t have a clear explanation for why this occurred.

Following her role as Rachel McGuire in “Boy Meets World”, Ward subsequently starred alongside Marlon and Shawn Wayans in the 2004 comedy “White Chicks”. However, she later garnered three AVN awards after making her debut in adult films with the release of “Drive” in 2019.

She shared with The Daily Beast in April 2021 that she discovered her affection for delivering sensual performances, expressing how it’s similar to dancing or ice skating in a duo – an artistic collaboration that she truly enjoys.

Furthermore, this strategy has consistently proven successful for her, as she is not only a 2023 AVN Best Actress award recipient but also an author of the book titled “Rated X.

She’s been married to Terry Baxter since 2006, and she shared with In Touch Weekly in January 2020 that not only is he her real estate agent husband, but he’s also a talented photographer. He’s captured photos of her throughout their journey together.

Initially, between 1993 and 1995, Morgan Matthews’ character Nicksay portrayed Cory and Eric’s younger sister. Afterward, she landed a part in the romantic drama “Up Close and Personal,” which starred Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert Redford.

Throughout her childhood, this actress made guest appearances on several television series, such as The Mentalist, 8 Simple Rules, Judging Amy, and eventually reprised her role as Morgan in the 2017 finale of Girl Meets World.

Since her marriage to songwriter Dave Gibson in 2015, she has been known as Lily Gibson. This name was used for her in an episode of NCIS in 2019 and in the 2021 film Four Cousins & a Christmas.

Following what seemed like the longest sleep she’d ever had, Morgan emerged from another part of the house, appearing noticeably older and dramatically changed after spending a year there.

From 1996 to 2000, Ridgeway assumed Morgan’s role in the series, then she graduated from UC Riverside in June 2007 with a bachelor’s degree and completed her master’s in counseling from the University of Redlands in 2010. Additionally, she is a vocalist who has sung the national anthem at various sports events across Los Angeles, and part-time worked for the Los Angeles Kings hockey team as a member of the Kings Ice Crew.

She also came back as Morgan for the Girl Meets World finale.

Lauren got between Cory and Topanga for a mercifully brief four-episode arc.

From “Boy Meets World”, Cardellini moved on to the regrettably short-lived series “Freaks and Geeks”. Subsequently, she raced through roles in “Scooby-Doo”, “ER”, “Brokeback Mountain”, “Mad Men” (receiving an Emmy nomination for her guest role in a drama series), “New Girl”, the Netflix drama “Bloodline”, and became part of the Marvel Universe as Clint/Hawkeye’s wife. She also starred in the 2019 Best Picture Oscar winner “Green Book”, co-starred and produced the Netflix dark comedy “Dead to Me” (earning 2020 Emmy nominations for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress in a Comedy).

The actress is mom to daughter Lilah-Rose with longtime partner Steven Rodriguez.

Among Suplee’s notable roles since playing the character Frankie “The Enforcer” Stechino are appearances in films such as American History X, Remember the Titans, Unstoppable, and a four-season stint portraying Randy Hickey on My Name Is Earl. He has also been featured in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, the Netflix comedy series The Ranch, Edward Norton’s noir drama Motherless Brooklyn, and the controversial horror-satire film The Hunt.

Suplee is preparing several upcoming ventures, one of which involves revisiting the Kevin Smith universe as part of the confirmed project titled “Twilight of the Mallrights“.

Since 2006, Suplee has been in matrimony with Brandy Lewis, and they have produced two children together. Furthermore, in January 2020, a picture he shared of his transformed physique, the outcome of a challenging journey to shed weight and improve health, gained widespread attention. Since then, he’s been an advocate for fitness and nutrition.

Following his stint as a substitute bully, Griff Hawkins, Scott transformed into an all-around charming and humorous individual, exhibiting occasional witty sarcasm and displaying the complexities of a melancholic, midlife crisis-stricken married man.

One of his most notable works encompasses the intense HBO series “Tell Me You Love Me,” the popular comedy “Step Brothers,” the revived Starz favorite “Party Down” after a 13-year hiatus, the beloved “Parks and Recreation,” the side-splitting “The Greatest Event in Television History” on Adult Swim, “Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later,” “The Good Place” and “Big Little Lies.” He garnered his initial Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for his portrayal of a mournful widower—or is he?—in Apple TV+’s psychological workplace drama “Severance.

In real life Scott has two kids with Naomi Sablan, his wife since 2005.

According to Strong, they introduced the character of Jonathan Turner (played by Quinn) onto the show because “Friends” became popular. He added this in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2011. ABC then stated that they wanted young adults on every program, even a children’s show that is primarily watched by teenagers.

Yet, Shawn experienced profound sorrow as Mr. Turner was involved in a motorcycle crash at the end of season four – an incident that led to his temporary disappearance from the screen and reappearance only on ‘Girl Meets World’. Remarkably, he had married a nurse he encountered during his hospital recovery after the accident.

During that period, Quinn made appearances on Melrose Place for four years, joined Pretty Little Liars in 2012, and more recently was seen in Feud: Betty and Joan in 2017.

He’s been married to Margaret Quinn since 1985 and they have two children.
