As a seasoned Overwatch player with countless hours spent on the battlefield and countless victories under my belt, I must admit that the latest news about Overwatch 2 has me both excited and skeptical. The upcoming trailer on November 11th promises to unveil something new, and while it could be just another skin or map, rumors have been swirling for years about an Overwatch mobile version.
Over the years, Blizzard Entertainment has faced its share of highs and lows with “Overwatch 2,” but this hero shooter remains popular and appears to be thriving. Although we’re aware that there are tests going on for a 6v6 format (the initial one is active now), it looks like the development team might have something more exciting in store.
On November 11th at 9 AM Pacific Time, a cryptic video teaser is set to debut, featuring only the thumbnail image of Tracer, the iconic character from a game. Although there are several possibilities, this could very well be “Overwatch” making its way onto mobile devices. For years, whispers about it have been around, but Jason Schreier of Bloomberg shed more light on it in his latest book titled “Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment“.
According to reports, Walter Kong, currently serving as the head of Overwatch, is said to be spearheading the project. The date for its release has yet to be disclosed, but it’s interesting to speculate that this new trailer could potentially signal an unexpected unveiling.
Keep an eye out for further news within the following days. The highly anticipated game, Overwatch 2, is now playable on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Personal Computers, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
