As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of heroes gracing the battlefield in Overwatch. But let me tell you, Hazard of the Phreaks is shaking things up!
The upcoming hero for Overwatch 2 has been confirmed and it’s a new Tank character named Hazard of the Phreaks. He will make his debut in Season 14 starting on December 10th. However, if you didn’t get a chance to try him out over the weekend, you can catch a glimpse of how he plays by watching the latest gameplay trailer below.
As a Brawl Dive tank, Hazard has the ability to jump over barriers and cling to edges. This feature is crucial when activating Jagged Wall, his first skill, which builds a sturdy wall that deflects damage and pushes opponents away. Additionally, this wall can be emitted from other walls, granting him greater access to elevated areas.
In simpler terms, Spike Guard serves as his protective shield, deflecting attacks while launching projectiles that zero in on nearby enemies. Violent Leap functions as a quick-closing move, initiating a strong slash followed by a pushback effect. His final ability, Downpour, rains down spikes from above, slowing opponents and preparing them for an attack from above.
Hazard is as a strong alternative to Doomfist and Winston, though time will tell how he slots into the current meta. Stay tuned for more details when Season 14 arrives in the coming weeks.
