As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt and a soft spot for both Overwatch and anime, I must say that this collaboration between Blizzard Entertainment and My Hero Academia is nothing short of exhilarating! The thought of Tracer donning Midoriya’s cape or Reinhardt channeling All Might’s mighty roar is already sending shivers down my spine.
Following “One-Punch Man” and “Cowboy Bebop”, Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled their next anime partnership for “Overwatch 2”: “My Hero Academia”. This collaboration begins on October 17th and concludes on October 30th. You can watch the reveal trailer here below.
On the heroic side, you’ll find Tracer standing in for Midoriya, Juno taking the place of Uraraka, and Reinhardt representing All Might. The villains lineup includes Reaper as Shigaraki, the leader of the League of Villains, and Kiriko portraying Toga. Individual bundles for each character will be up for purchase, along with a Mega Bundle that includes them all, available in the Shop.
Sadly, the free rewards aren’t particularly rich, as players can only unlock five sprays and a charm by participating in matches. Additionally, there doesn’t appear to be any upcoming limited-time Brawl, which means the offerings are primarily cosmetic items at this time.
Keep an eye out for further information and updates when the collaboration goes live in the coming month. The upcoming release of Overwatch 2 can be enjoyed on platforms including Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, personal computers, and Nintendo Switch.
