This trailer started a buzz when it seemed to display critic quotes from films like “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now,” but upon closer inspection, these quotes were discovered to be fabricated, originally attributed to renowned film critics such as Pauline Kael and Roger Ebert. Soon after the release of the new “Megalopolis” trailer, its distributor Lionsgate acknowledged their mistake and decided to withdraw the trailer entirely, expressing regret to both the misquoted critics and Coppola himself.
