Crunchyroll, a major influencer in the anime streaming market, boasts a wide variety of anime adaptations and manga within its collection. The platform revealed that it has over fifteen million subscribers worldwide, who are enjoying some of the most popular anime productions globally. Beyond North America and Japan, Crunchyroll’s reach now extends to countries like India. In a recent discussion, Crunchyroll’s CEO announced not only the company’s expansion in India but also plans for projects tailored explicitly for this region.

Last year, when I jumped into “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” on my Nintendo Switch, it felt like stepping into a technological marvel. The game’s creators really pushed the limits of what the aging console could do, and I was blown away by how smoothly it ran on such hardware. The game’s load times were particularly impressive, allowing me to seamlessly traverse from the lands of Hyrule down to the newly introduced Depths without a hitch. Achieving this smoothness required some clever technical work on Nintendo’s part, which they recently unveiled at the Computer Entertainment Development Conference in Japan.

Since Atlus unveiled “Metaphor: ReFantazio”, the upcoming roleplaying game from Studio Zero, helmed by the talented team consisting of Katsura Hashino, director of the Persona series, character designer Shigenori Soejima, and composer Shoji Meguro, the game, previously referred to as “Project Re:Fantasy“, has been eagerly anticipated by fans as a “fantasy Persona”. At first sight, this label seems reasonable. The initial glimpses of “Metaphor: ReFantazio” showcase many visual hallmarks reminiscent of the Persona series, such as striking design elements in the user interface. However, spending just a few hours with “Metaphor: ReFantazio” reveals that this brief summary is overly simplistic. I was fortunate to spend those few hours with “Metaphor: ReFantazio” during a special preview event hosted by Atlus and Sega (the game’s North American publisher) in August. Here’s my take on the experience.
