In a chat with ComicBook, Tudyk hinted at his comeback in the Star Wars galaxy for season 2 of Andor, and also dropped some intriguing details about the potential sequel to Dodgeball. He left us wondering if he’d be up for another round of that game.

More recently, Witwer resumed his role as Maul to narrate a fresh audiobook version of the Star Wars Legends Essentials tale: “Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter“. Given the new animated series, it’s a must-listen for fans captivated by Maul and the enigmatic Dark Side of the Star Wars lore.

At Star Wars Celebration Japan, ComicBook had a chat with Sam Witwer, who voices Darth Maul. When asked about giving depth and humanity to a character like Maul, Witwer said he tries to understand Maul’s viewpoint because the show explores this aspect. He humorously added that it helps to imagine Maul wearing his metal shoes. Essentially, it’s all about considering Maul’s opinions and perspectives since the series asks many questions. For example, did Maul anticipate the current order under Palpatine? Does he feel the universe has lost its vibrancy? How does Maul perceive the extinction of the Jedi Knights, with Kenobi possibly deceased?

Absolutely! It’s astonishing to me, and I believe the reason is that as those children who cherished Jar Jar Binks have grown up, they now have kids of their own. So, for many people, Jar Jar served as their gateway into the Star Wars universe, much like A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi were my Star Wars. Consequently, it’s only natural that we’re experiencing a resurgence, and truth be told, George Lucas foresaw this. He was quite visionary, so he understood that by now, things would turn out as they have.

From the previews of Season 4 of The Rising of the Shield Hero, it’s clear that the anime will, at minimum, cover volumes 13 and 14 of the original light novel. The story begins with Naofumi and his companions readying for a battle against Q’ten Lo, and later shows Raphtalia visiting her homeland for the first time since she was taken away as a slave. The tagline for this season is “The return of the exiled,” hinting at the revelation that Raphtalia is a member of her homeland’s royal family.
