In a spate of recent book bans sweeping across the U.S., the manga series “Unico: Awakening” has been added to the list, alongside “Assassination Classroom” and “Sasaki and Miyano”. According to Anime News Network, The Richmond Reviewer newspaper reported on November 21st that all copies of “Unico: Awakening” were removed from the Richmond County School District in North Carolina following a complaint lodged by the parent of a first-grader at one of their schools. This series is an adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s original work, co-created by Samuel Sattin and Gurihiru.

Slated for release on December 13th, the upcoming animated film titled “The War of the Rohirrim“, which is part of the Lord of the Rings movie series, takes place during the rule of Helm Hammerhand, a full 183 years before the events depicted in the original Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The impressive voice cast includes Brian Cox as Rohan, Gaia Wise as Héra, daughter of Helm and the central character of the movie, Miranda Otto as Éowyn, and Luke Pasqualino as Wulf, the chief of the Dunlendings. Warner Bros. has released a promotional video on their YouTube channel to give fans a sneak peek at some of the voice acting they can anticipate when the film premieres.
