Each year, the D23 exhibition returns, showcasing the newest previews and fresh material from the Disney universe. Whether it’s their live-action projects or animated endeavors, there’s something appealing to everyone. One of the most eagerly awaited productions is the sequel to “Zootopia,” titled “Zootopia 2.” The original film, which hit theaters in 2016 and starred the animated characters Judy Hops (played by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), was a massive success, grossing over $1 billion at the global box office on a budget of just $150 million. Disney Plus has unveiled the first official teaser for the upcoming series, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.” Starring Jude Law, this spin-off of “Star Wars” seems to be a youthful adaptation, as it showcases scenes that appear to have moved away from the conventional farmlands and battlefields, opting instead for a suburban setting reminiscent of Lucasfilm. Following several months of excitement, the long-awaited initial trailer for Daredevil: Born Again has been unveiled! While fans previously caught glimpses of Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear thanks to set pictures, this trailer is the first officially released preview from Marvel Studios. Alongside Cox’s Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Kingpin (played by Vincent D’Onofrio) menacingly reappears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Next year, a live stage version of Disney’s “Hercules” is set to debut in London’s West End, representing another venture for Disney’s live theatre division. This announcement was made at the D23 event held at the Anaheim Convention Center. Additionally, it was disclosed that Disney has struck a deal to broadcast the stage adaptation of “Frozen” on Disney+, following the phenomenal success of “Hamilton.” This move brings the Disney-on-Broadway experience right into our homes and adds another installment to one of Disney’s most popular franchises for fans to become engrossed in. Today at D23, Disney announced that the third part of James Cameron’s successful Avatar series will be named Avatar: Fire and Ash. This title appears to be a reversed version of the 2022 title, Avatar: The Way of Water, hinting at the increased tension for the upcoming film. Although the atmosphere on stage was lively, it felt somewhat solemn due to the recent demise of producer Jon Landau, whose name was displayed on screens during D23. The movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, will be dedicated in memory to Landau.
