As a long-time gamer with a soft spot for open-world survival games and adorable creatures, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Palworld, the captivating blend of Pokémon-like elements and Harvest Moon-inspired gameplay, is finally making its way to PlayStation 5.
Since the debut of Palworld on PC and Xbox earlier this year, which quickly gained popularity, there’s been much anticipation about when the open-world survival game will arrive on PlayStation. Recent hints suggesting an announcement was imminent have fueled speculation, and now, the official announcement has been made.
During Sony’s latest State of Play broadcast, developer Pocketpair unveiled that the game Palworld is now available on PS5 starting today. You can watch the announcement trailer below for a sneak peek at the game, showcasing its main feature of gathering and nurturing creatures called Pals, which you can then employ to expand your bases, traverse the world, and encounter various hazards.
At present, Pocketpair finds itself embroiled in a lawsuit initiated by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company over allegations of patent violations. However, Pocketpair claims it doesn’t have clear understanding yet about which patents are being accused of infringement. Regardless, they are committed to defending the rights of independent game developers, stating that they will work diligently to prevent any obstacles or discouragement from impeding these creators as they pursue their innovative ideas. Palworld is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
