Palworld Mobile Game Coming from PUBG Developer

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and intrigue about the upcoming mobile version of Palworld. Having witnessed the meteoric rise of games like Fortnite and PUBG on mobile platforms, it’s clear that there’s a huge market for these types of games on smartphones.

It’s been announced that a mobile adaptation of the game Palworld is underway, with collaboration between Krafton and PUBG Studios. According to a statement from Krafton, the mobile game aims to recreate and adjust the core features of the original game to suit the mobile platform. At present, specifics about the partnership between the two companies are scarce. Considering that this year saw the release of both console and PC versions of Palworld, it’s likely that development for the mobile version is still in its initial stages, meaning we probably won’t see it launched anytime soon.

It’s not unexpected that Palworld might eventually have a mobile version, considering counterfeit mobile games started popping up soon after its launch in January. Even though Pocketpair, the game’s developer, is relatively small and had other priorities besides a mobile adaptation, Krafton’s expertise in mobile gaming makes them an excellent partner for such a project, given their past successes.

Currently, it’s uncertain whether the mobile version of Palworld will offer a distinct experience or simply be a port of the existing game for iOS and Android devices. It’s plausible, considering that large-scale games like Resident Evil 7 have transitioned to mobile platforms. Additionally, there might be cloud saving features linking the PC and console versions of Palworld with its potential mobile release. However, these are mere speculations at this point; we’re eagerly awaiting official updates for more accurate information.

Since its launch on Xbox and Steam in January, the game Palworld has been a remarkable success, selling over 15 million copies on Steam and generating significant interest through Xbox Game Pass. A version for PlayStation 5 was recently released as well. The question remains whether Palworld can sustain its early popularity, but developer Pocketpair is making concerted efforts to build upon the game’s current success. To this end, they have formed a partnership with Krafton and started a joint venture in July with Sony Music Entertainment and Aniplex, aiming to grow and develop new ventures related to the hit game.
