Paradox Interactive Adds Jagged Alliance 3 Dev to Its Strategic Arsenal

Likely the largest publisher specializing in strategy games that cater to specific niches, Paradox Interactive, has bought out all shares of Bulgarian game developer Haemimont Games. This developer is most recognized for creating Tropico 5 and, more recently, reintroducing the tactical mercenary series with Jagged Alliance 3.

In a public statement, Paradox CEO Frederik Wester warmly announced the integration of Haemimont Games. This move makes Haemimont a fully owned affiliate, yet it will maintain its existing management and creative staff. Moreover, Mr. Wester disclosed that Haemimont is currently developing a brand-new intellectual property (IP).

It’s a pleasure to announce the addition of Haemimont Games to the Paradox family! They bring a cohesive group with a wealth of experience in crafting management games, boasting numerous successful projects. Additionally, they possess a vibrant creative spirit, innovative technology tailored for their niche, a new intellectual property in the works, and a culture that aligns well with ours at Paradox. We have high confidence in their team and leadership, and our primary goal now is to facilitate their continued production of exceptional games under their new management.

At a particularly intriguing moment for me, as I’ve recently begun playing JA3 anew and find it captivating, this update arrives. Remarkably, the tactical turn-based strategy game of mercenary management has significantly improved since our initial review in 2023; it’s definitely worth exploring if you share my curiosity. Although we eagerly anticipate a potential sequel, we’re excited to see what Haemimont can accomplish with support from Paradox Interactive.

Do you enjoy the vibrant, stereotypical characters from 90’s action movies that are featured in the Jagged Alliance series? If so, feel free to assemble your team of mercenaries by posting your suggestions in the comment section below.
