As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest offering from Grinding Gear Games, Path of Exile 2, has me absolutely thrilled! With its dark, gritty world and intense gameplay, it’s like Diablo met Dark Souls at the gates of Mordor.
Besides the content found in the early access version of Path of Exile 2, Grinding Gear Games has also unveiled two fresh trailers. One focuses on the opening cinematic, which sets a grim mood for the events unfolding in Wraeclast, while the other provides glimpses into new gameplay mechanics. You can watch them below.
20 years later, Path of Exile 2 introduces us to the Count of Ogham, who’s using the Seed of Corruption for his own purposes, discarding anyone who dares question him. Players begin their journey at the gallows as one of six characters and soon break free to challenge this tyrant. The world has undergone changes due to the Corruption’s spread, resulting in new and familiar foes to battle.
The finale of the story is yet to unfold since only three acts are currently accessible in early release – however, it seems that the climax will involve exploring the world and purging it of Corruption. In addition, new Pinnacle bosses are expected, along with refined mechanics such as Breach, Delirium, Ritual, and others, ensuring novel challenges and incentives.
Starting on December 6th, Path of Exile 2 is set to debut on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms at a price point of $29.99. For a minimum duration of six months, players will have early access to this sequel.
