Path of Exile’s Currency Exchange Market is Not Available in Standard Leagues

As a dedicated fan of Path of Exile, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming expansion, Settlers of Kalguur! The new Currency Exchange Market is the feature I’ve been eagerly waiting for. No more endless trips to Kingsmarch or dealing with shady traders in town squares!

The upcoming expansion for Path of Exile by Grinding Gear Games, named Settlers of Kalguur, will be released on July 26th. This new update brings an impressive amount of content, but what players are most excited about is the introduction of the Currency Exchange Market. For the first time, in-game trading will be possible asynchronously.

Mark Roberts, the game director, has released a new video detailing some new features in Settlers of Kalguur. However, it’s important to note that these features are exclusive to the Challenge Leagues and not available in the Standard or Solo Self-Found modes. One of these features allows players to invite Faustus, the vendor, to their Hideout, eliminating the need for frequent visits to Kingsmarch.

When I open up the trade menu, there’s a tab at the top that highlights popular currencies – the twelve items with the most trading activity. As I hover over each ratio, I’m presented with an array of excellent options. However, it’s essential to have Gold for any trading transactions. You acquire Gold by participating in Settlers of Kalguur leagues and it’s well-balanced for mid-game use. In the early game, you won’t find yourself utilizing trade much, but as Roberts points out, earning Gold becomes a breeze in the late game.

You can only engage in a certain number of transactions at once. At present, this limit is set at ten and applies to all leagues (with the possibility of adjustment from the developer). Transactions can be partially completed, but you have the flexibility to finish them whenever; however, any Gold spent will not be returned if the transaction is terminated prior to completion.

After completing a trade, a message pops up above the Mana bar. If you’re currently offline, Faustus will receive a notification in his Hideout once he logs back in, signaling finished exchanges. The Currency Exchange Market hasn’t been introduced to Standard Leagues yet, but the developer is eager to test its success in Settlers of Kalguur and determine if it could be a valuable addition to future leagues.

As an excited fan of Path of Exile, I’m thrilled to share that Settlers of Kalguur are coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, and PC! For more juicy details about this update, such as the Gladiator rework and Warden Ascendancy, be sure to explore the official announcement.
