As a huge fan of both Pauly Shore and Richard Simmons, I was deeply saddened to hear of Richard’s passing at the age of 76. The news came as a shock to many, including Pauly Shore who played him in a short film titled “The Court Jester” and had plans to revive the role in a feature film. However, Simmons had expressed his disapproval of the project, stating that he did not authorize it and hoped to make his own movie about his life.

I was deeply saddened to learn that Richard Simmons, the vibrant fitness icon who ruled pop culture in the ’80s, passed away at the age of 76 last day. Known for his boisterous personality and infectious energy, Simmons left an indelible mark on many lives through his fitness regime. The news has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans, including comedian Pauly Shore. Having portrayed Simmons in a short film called “The Court Jester,” Shore is planning to resurrect the role for a feature-length production. However, it’s important to note that Simmons himself expressed opposition to this project and harbored dreams of making his own biopic about his life.

I recently learned, just like many others, that the beloved Richard Simmons has sadly passed away. I fondly remember his vibrant energy and unique personality. Please extend my heartfelt condolences to his mother Mitzi and father Sammy. You were truly one-of-a-kind, Richard, with an extraordinary life and captivating story. The world seemed to brighten when you entered it in your iconic dolphin shorts. Rest in peace, dear friend. Rest in peace.

Pauly Shore Reacts to Richard Simmons Disowning Biopic Movie:

Shortly after Simmons said he didn’t authorize a biopic to be made of his life, Shore responded.

“My background has always been rooted in love, Shore explained to Variety at the Sundance Film Festival. I don’t harbor vindictive intentions, unlike Borat or those who seek to mock. Instead, our production as an unauthorized biopic is a testament to this sensitivity. We yearn for Richard’s approval and blessing, ‘Go for it, Pauly,’ he said. It’s essential that we portray the authenticity of Richard and not disturb him. Our intention is to pay tribute and express gratitude for his remarkable contributions. As for who will embody Richard Simmons, it won’t be Leonardo DiCaprio. Instead, I am the closest match.”

Shore shared a strong connection with him, explaining, “His recent interview struck a chord with me. He comes across as being solitary, without close friends or family. This resonates with my current situation; my parents have passed away, and my relationship with my siblings isn’t great. I’m not married, and when I tour in America, it’s a whirlwind. When I return home, I’m left feeling isolated once more. I can see myself in him – there’s a striking resemblance between us.”

Our thoughts are with Richard Simmons’ loved ones at this difficult time.
