Peacock and Blumhouse Partner for Immersive Horror Experience at Iconic Stanley Hotel

As a die-hard horror fan who grew up watching Stephen King adaptations and being terrified by every creak in the night, the news about the OVERNIGHTMARE event at The Stanley Hotel is nothing short of a dream come true! This iconic hotel has always held an eerie allure, and now, partnering with Blumhouse Productions, it’s offering a two-day adventure that promises to send shivers down my spine.

“Few horror stories are as revered and terrifying as Stephen King’s ‘The Shining,’ and Peacock and Blumhouse Productions are teaming up for a fresh take that honors the chilling origins of this classic tale. It is well-known that King penned his ‘The Shining’ after staying at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado when the hotel was mostly vacant, and he was captivated by the many ghost stories surrounding the area. In October, enthusiasts will have the opportunity to dive into a two-day experience at the famous hotel, featuring themed accommodations, screenings, and other activities. Visit The Stanley Hotel’s website now to reserve your stay before the event commences on October 18th.

According to a recent announcement, “Horror enthusiasts can expect a unique lodging experience this October at the ‘OVERNIGHTMARE’ hosted by Peacock at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, an iconic location known for its chilling atmosphere. In collaboration with Blumhouse, Peacock will transform The Lodge at The Stanley Hotel from Friday, October 18th to Sunday, October 20th. During this period, guest rooms will be themed around four different Blumhouse films – ‘Insidious’, ‘The Purge’, ‘Happy Death Day’, and ‘Freaky’.

“The thrilling experience starts immediately at check-in, where guests will be greeted by a conci-scare-ge and will continue throughout the weekend with encounters of various characters and frights throughout the space, including the Teacup Room, a spooky salon that will take guests inside the world of the new thriller series produced by James Wan’s Atomic Monster exclusively on Peacock, and the Blumhouse Bar, a haven for horror fans to have a sip and a scare, and play the company’s upcoming video game, Fear the Spotlight.

As night falls, you can expect an authentic, spine-tingling adventure! Each evening presents a unique, post-darkness event where guests are invited to leave their rooms for one of four customized, fully engrossing activities. These experiences draw inspiration from the Blumhouse movies and offer interactive characters, captivating stories, and jolts that will make your heart race. To accommodate various levels of fear tolerance, these events cater to different horror intensities. Whether you’re after a mild scare with films like Freaky and Happy Death Day, or prefer a full-blown nightmare experience with movies such as Insidious and The Purge, there’s something for everyone!

For an extra delight (no surprises), attendees will also be welcomed to two evenings of film screenings, featuring episodes of the Peacock series “Teacup”, produced by James Wan’s Atomic Monster. The series is set to debut on October 10th. If you’re daring enough, you can book your stay at The Stanley Hotel directly from their website. The weekend package offers a two-night accommodation in a double room at The Lodge, an interactive horror experience, a complimentary welcome dinner, a $100 credit towards meals at Brunch & Co., nightly screenings, and two drink vouchers for the Blumhouse Bar per guest.

As a homebody gamer who craves a good scare, I’m excited to share that some top-notch Blumhouse terrors are now streaming on Peacock! Titles like Insidious, Happy Death Day, Halloween Kills, and Get Out are just a click away. On October 1st, prepare for even more chills with the arrival of The Purge franchise and Freaky. And if you’re looking for something new, starting from October 10th, Teacup, an original Peacock series, will drop weekly episodes all the way up to Halloween. With collections like ‘Freaky Franchises’ and ‘Horror 101’, there are over 150 titles in total, ready to help you conquer your fears. And remember, it’s perfectly okay to keep those lights on!

The OVERNIGHTMARE experience kicks off on October 18th.
