The romantic comedy series “Laid” on Peacock is only planned for one season, despite its impressive cast and near-universal acclaim from critics. Unfortunately, the show will not receive a second season on the NBCUniversal streaming service.
As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I was looking forward to binge-watching “Laid” on Peacock, but unfortunately, the series has been axed after just one season. The show kicked off on their streaming platform on Dec. 19, with all eight episodes ready for simultaneous viewing. The initial reception was tremendous, with a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, despite this strong start, “Laid” didn’t quite make it to the big leagues. It failed to break into Nielsen’s top 10 list and didn’t generate significant buzz on social media. At present, there’s uncertainty about whether the show will be given a second chance by being offered to other streaming platforms.
