For many years, disaster films have been a beloved genre among movie enthusiasts. However, only a select number of these movies have endured and continued to be remembered long after they were first shown in cinemas. Classic films from the ’80s and ’90s like “Armageddon” and “Twister” are still well-known today, but since the year 2000, only a small number of disaster films have managed to make an impact and join the ranks of all-time greats. However, in 2004, one such disaster film left a lasting impression on fans, and it recently made headlines with its arrival on popular streaming platforms at the start of this month.
In 2004, Roland Emmerich’s movie “The Day After Tomorrow”, featuring Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal, was an incredible hit at the box office, amassing over $552 million globally. The tale of a catastrophic climate event soon garnered a loyal fanbase, and these enthusiasts now have the chance to watch it on Peacock streaming service.
This month, “The Day After Tomorrow” joined Peacock’s streaming platform, following a lengthy stint on other services. This addition is a welcome enhancement to the blockbuster collection on Peacock, which already includes “Jurassic Park,” “John Wick,” and “Wicked.
