A significant shift in personnel has occurred at Peacock, leaving many of its subscribers disgruntled. Despite this setback, the platform continues to boast a wealth of excellent movies and series, housing the primary libraries for NBC, USA, and other networks. Regrettably, May marked the end of a major TV collaboration, as Hallmark decided to part ways with Peacock entirely.
For the past two years, Hallmark has been a constant presence on the streaming platform Peacock, particularly during festive seasons. The live broadcast of the Hallmark Channel is available around the clock on Peacock, and their shows have been accessible through the service. Moreover, all newly produced Hallmark Original Movies have had an exclusive streaming period on Peacock following their initial airing.
On May 1st, Hallmark chose to end its streaming agreement with Peacock. Given the current state of the streaming market and Hallmark’s recent launch of their own independent service towards the end of last year, this decision may not come as a shock to those who have been closely following developments in the field.
2022 marked the start of a fruitful collaboration between Hallmark and Peacock. In a recent announcement, Hallmark revealed that following the launch of its own streaming platform, Hallmark+, they assessed the unique benefits each service offers to their subscribers. Consequently, it was decided that Hallmark programming would be phased out on Peacock. Despite this change, both Peacock and Hallmark will continue to captivate audiences year-round with an array of heartwarming, exclusive content tailored to their viewers’ preferences.
For fans of The Hallmark Channel, Mark+ has become an essential streaming choice, especially when October arrives and the yearly Countdown to Christmas marathon commences. This platform now houses all of Hallmark’s fresh releases in movies and TV series, along with their original collection.
Last year, things were different because of Peacock’s agreement with Hallmark. Instead of NBCUniversal, it was Peacock that provided live access to the Hallmark Channel and had exclusive rights to air all new movies a day after they were broadcasted on television. However, these films were only available on Peacock for three days following their online debut, similar to how cable TV on-demand services work.
Right now, what’s lacking in this setup is the option to stream The Hallmark Channel live directly. You can still access it through conventional cable or online streaming services like Hulu Live TV or YouTube TV. However, unlike Peacock, Hallmark+ doesn’t provide a live feed of the Hallmark Channel at the moment, and there’s no word yet on whether this will change in the future.
