As a horror enthusiast who has spent countless nights huddled under blankets while watching the most terrifying films and series, I can confidently say that the upcoming Peacock original series “Teacup” has piqued my interest like none other. The combination of Atomic Monster’s prowess in delivering chilling tales and the star-studded cast featuring Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, and Chaske Spencer is a recipe for an unforgettable viewing experience.

Following the intriguing sneak peek of “Teacup” at San Diego Comic-Con, streaming service Peacock has unveiled a complete trailer for their upcoming horror series. Produced by Atomic Monster, the company behind James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious), Teacup boasts a star-studded cast including Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Scott Speedman (Grey’s Anatomy), and Chaske Spencer (The English). This spine-tingling series is set to invade Peacock right before Halloween. You can watch the chilling new Teacup trailer in the player above, and feast your eyes on its ominous official poster below. The first two episodes of Teacup will air on October 10th, with a fresh pair of episodes released every week leading up to Halloween.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that I, Ian McCulloch, step into the role of showrunner for the upcoming series, collaborating closely with Michael Clear and Rob Hackett from Atomic Monster, Francisca X. Hu, and Kevin Tancharoen. Our journey begins as we adapt Teacup, a gripping tale originally penned by the talented Robert McCammon, who also serves as an executive producer on this project.

“Upon finishing Robert McCammon’s book Stinger, everyone at Atomic Monster felt a surge of inspiration,” James Wan penned. “The narrative held the potential for an enthralling series and Ian McCulloch had an innovative idea to breathe new life into it, making it both shocking and hauntingly atmospheric while maintaining a deep sense of human emotion – something rarely found in edgy tales. With our exceptionally gifted cast headlined by Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, and Chaske Spencer, viewers are in for an exhilarating rollercoaster ride. Teacup defies simple categorization. It’s a genre-blending mix of horror, mystery, and drama, with intricacies that unfold like a compelling enigma. It transcends fear and excitement and offers insight into the human condition, delving into the shadows within us all. We hope you appreciate this thrilling journey as much as we’ve enjoyed crafting it!”

In a statement, Showrunner Ian McCulloch explained the transition from “Stinger” to “Teacup,” saying in part: “Teacup” has replaced “Stinger,” but the reasons for this change are too spoiler-filled to disclose yet. However, watch the initial episodes and you’ll soon understand that this series is now a unique entity. It offers a captivating puzzle, heart-pounding suspense, an irresistible horror narrative, family dynamics, epic science fiction elements – through a keyhole perspective, of course. Despite its singularity, strangeness, and unexpected twists, if you carefully unravel the characters, situations, and mythology, and look beyond the thrills, chills, sudden turns, and jaw-dropping revelations, you’ll find that at its core, “Teacup” remains deeply rooted in the foundations of “Stinger.” As it should be.

The initial season of the show titled “Teacup” will comprise eight 30-minute episodes, with the first two being helmed by director E.L. Katz, known for his works on “Cheap Thrills” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor“. The main cast of “Teacup” consists of Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux.
