Peaky Blinders and Line of Duty’s Stephen Graham joins new thriller

As a seasoned movie enthusiast who’s witnessed the evolution of British cinema from the comfort of my armchair, I can confidently say that the casting of Stephen Graham in Good Boy is nothing short of brilliant! The man has an uncanny ability to slip into any character he plays, making us believe we’re watching real life unfold on the screen.

Actor Stephen Graham, known for his work on Line of Duty, will appear in an upcoming suspenseful movie titled Good Boy. This project is being helmed by director Jan Komasa.

Initially, Deadline broke the news, additionally reporting that Andrea Riseborough from The Regime and Anson Boon, known for his role in Pistol, are part of the film’s cast.

The summary for the movie, penned by debutant Polish screenwriter Bartek Bartosik and British writer Naqqash Khalid, indicates: “Tommy, aged 19, revels in his life as a criminal, orchestrating heinous acts with his companions. This persists until an unexpected night when he is abducted by a stranger, Chris (portrayed by Graham).

In the secluded cellar of a house, Tommy (Boon) awakens, ensnared by a chain around his neck. He’s thrust into a complex family dynamic, where Chris and his enigmatic spouse Kathryn (Riseborough) aim to mold Tommy into an ideal person – a process that appears more like coercive rehabilitation.

“The one thing Tommy knows for sure: he must escape.”

It appears that Good Boy has already wrapped up shooting at studios in Warsaw and on-site in Yorkshire, but specific release information hasn’t been disclosed just yet.

Among the numerous ventures on his horizon, Graham also has projects like Blitz, Deliver Me from Nowhere, and the Peaky Blinders film in the pipeline.

In the meantime, they are currently shooting this production, which will soon be available on Netflix. Notably, actors like Cillian Murphy and Sophie Rundle will reprise their roles, along with fresh additions to the cast such as Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson.

In addition, here are some of Graham’s forthcoming television ventures: Adolescence, a production he will share with Ashley Walters, directed by the same person who helmed Boiling Point; and A Thousand Blows, a boxing-themed series penned by Steven Knight, set to debut on Disney Plus.

The show, too, features Malachi Kirby and Erin Doherty, and it takes audiences into the underground realm of clandestine boxing matches happening in 1880s London during the Victorian era.
