As a seasoned movie enthusiast with over three decades of cinematic adventures under my belt, I must say this latest development regarding Peaky Blinders has me positively giddy! The prospect of witnessing the continuation of this magnificent series on the silver screen is beyond exciting.
Today brings thrilling news for lovers of Peaky Blinders, as it’s been announced that filming for the long-awaited cinematic sequel has finally been completed.
Not only have we been given more than we expected, but we’ve additionally been shown a backstage photo featuring Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan laughing together while wearing their authentic Peaky Blinders attire, complete with the famous flat caps.
On the authentic Peaky Blinders platform, they shared an update: “We’ve wrapped up! Shooting for the Peaky Blinders movie is all done. Get ready to stream it on Netflix soon!
“Wishing a happy festive break to everyone, especially our wonderful cast and crew.”
Actor Keoghan, a well-known figure from Saltburn, is among several high-profile individuals set to join the current cast. This group also includes Tim Roth, famed for his role in Pulp Fiction, and Rebecca Ferguson, known for her work in Mission: Impossible. However, specifics about their characters in the movie have yet to be revealed.
At the same time, Murphy isn’t the only familiar face coming back in this movie. Expect to see Ada Thorne, portrayed by Sophie Rundle, again. Also returning are Charlie Strong (Ned Dennehy), Johnny Dogs (Packy Lee), and Curly (Ian Peck), who are close friends and associates of Tommy Shelby.
Additionally, Stephen Graham is set to reprise his role as union convenor Hayden Stagg, following his disclosure about his participation.
Before the hit series concluded with its sixth season in 2022, plans for a spin-off had already been underway. Showrunner Steven Knight, who has expressed his wish to continue the storyline, has favored creating a movie instead of a seventh season to keep the universe alive.
Earlier, the knight explained to The Mirror that the larger budget would be evident on-screen, expressing it as: “The main distinction between a movie and a television show lies in their budgets.
When it comes to on-screen action, there’s a distinct difference between television and film. With television, we frequently invite the audience to use their imagination, but with films, we have the unique opportunity to actually bring those explosive scenes to life!
