Penn Badgley Spills Shocking Truth About Dating Blake Lively During Gossip Girl Fame

Penn Badgley knows you love to look back at his past romance with Blake Lively

Nevertheless, the former Gossip Girl cast member, who is now a parent of four-year-old James and expecting twins with spouse Domino Kirke, has confessed that maintaining a romantic relationship while it was deeply connected to their TV personas was quite challenging for them.

In an interview with Alex Cooper on the April 23 episode of “Call Her Daddy,” Penn stated that working on a television show requires ongoing effort due to its inherent characteristics. He explained that it feels as though one is always needing to validate themselves in some way, even if nobody specifically asks for it. If not, he questioned, what’s the purpose or the space for it?

Indeed, Penn’s challenges weren’t just about the contrast between his own relationships with Blake and the character Dan’s with Serena; they extended to encompass the influence of the public’s perspective on how his overall lifestyle was shaped by their opinions about his character as well.

He went on to say, “There wasn’t enough distinction, if I may put it that way, for anyone. People would recognize you and call your name out on the street. At work, too, you were expected to be ‘that person.’ This was when I was 20, 21, and 22, so I didn’t have the emotional maturity at the time to comprehend or separate myself based on self-worth.

As he put it, “What people seemed to think of Dan seemed to be what people thought of me.”

Fortunately, Penn clarified that despite ending his relationship with Blake in 2010, during the time Gossip Girl was still running until 2012, they maintained a cordial rapport as former partners on set.

In an episode of his podcast “Podcrushed” from September, Penn stated that he believes we were former lovers for almost half the duration of the entire series. Despite this, our interactions were always strictly professional. We had to perform some incredibly bizarre activities together. By the end, we pretended to be married. To my recollection, there wasn’t a single moment of awkwardness or discomfort between us. It was never an issue.

Ever since I bid adieu to my iconic role as Serena van der Woodsen on the beloved series Gossip Girl, I’ve found myself immersed in a whirlwind of new adventures. Before the show even wrapped up in 2012, I exchanged vows with the extraordinary Ryan Reynolds and together we’ve welcomed four little miracles into our lives: daughters James, Inez, and Betty, along with our son Olin, born in 2023. In more recent times, I’ve had the privilege of gracing the silver screen alongside some truly remarkable casts in films such as The Age of Adaline, The Shallows, A Simple Favor, and The Rhythm Section.

Once a Lonely Boy, Badgley is no longer! After portraying Dan Humphrey (spoiler: he was actually Gossip Girl), he’s been grabbing attention with his role as the stalker Joe Goldberg on the popular Netflix show “You“.

In a more personal aspect, it’s worth mentioning that Badgley is a married man. He exchanged vows with Domino Kirke, the sister of actress Jemima Kirke from ‘Girls’, back in February 2017. The couple became parents for the first time in August 2020. For those who followed ‘GG’, you may recall that Badgley and Lively were a couple during the series’ early phases, but they parted ways in 2010.

Over the past few years, the actress, known as Blair Waldorf from the Upper East Side, has been creating quite a stir in the comedy scene, taking on roles such as those seen in ABC’s “Single Parents.

Master got married to the actor commonly known as Seth Cohen from The O.C., Adam Brody. Together, they have a 6-year-old daughter named Arlo, who was born in 2015, and a son who arrived in 2020, whose name remains undisclosed.

For six successive seasons, fans adored Nate Archibald played by Crawford. After the finale in 2012, Crawford has been featured on ABC’s “Blood & Oil”, along with movies like “Eloise” and “All About Nina”. Currently, Crawford appears in the Amazon original series “The Boys”, which was renewed for a fifth and final season in May 2024.

Ed Westwick first gained popularity by portraying Chuck Bass, a role that became iconic due to his distinctive scarf. Post his departure from this character, he graced our screens in the 2013 adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, and headlined the brief run of ABC’s series Wicked City. He also featured prominently in the British TV show White Gold.

2017 autumn saw the Los Angeles Police Department initiating an investigation into sexual misconduct claims brought forth by numerous women against Westwick, who denied these accusations. However, come July 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney chose not to bring charges against Westwick, as there was insufficient evidence in two cases and one accuser refused to collaborate with investigators.

Over these past few years, I’ve found myself deeply entwined in the love story of Edward Westwick and Amy Jackson. Their engagement news, shared in the chill of January 2024, sent a shiver of excitement through my heart. Come August, they exchanged vows in an Italian ceremony that felt like a dream come true for me as their biggest fan.

Over time, Little J (Jessica Momsen) has made significant progress beyond her earlier efforts to join Blair’s group. At the tender age of 14, Jessica gained fame portraying Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, but she parted ways with the show in 2010 as her love for music had been burning strongly within her since her youth. Subsequently, she established and led the band The Pretty Reckless when she was only 17 years old.

Regarding a possible comeback to acting? “I’ve learned not to rule anything out forever, given the unexpected turns life can take,” she shared with TopMob at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, her first red carpet appearance in half a decade. “However, I don’t have any plans set in stone at the moment.

Emily Szohr made a big impact in Hollywood with her debut as Vanessa Abrams in the series GG. Since then, she’s graced both the big screen and small screen with roles in movies like The Internship, Ted 2, and Two Night Stand. Additionally, she has been featured on television shows such as Kingdom, Shameless, and The Orville.

In January 2021, she delivered her daughter named Bowie Ella, who is engaged to hockey professional Brad Richardson. They eventually got married in August 2024.

After the finale in 2012, the sarcastic narrator (who reappeared in the 2021 remake) got married to long-term partner Dax Shepard. They became parents to a daughter named Lincoln in March 2013, and another daughter, Delta, arrived 21 months later. In the realm of acting, she starred in the Hulu revival of “Veronica Mars” and NBC’s “The Good Place”. Kristen Bell also led the “Bad Moms” movies, lends her voice to Anna in Disney’s “Frozen” and “Frozen 2”.

Back in the day, you might recall Bucky Barnes making an appearance on the popular TV show “Gossip Girl”. Indeed, the actor graced our screens for a total of 11 episodes, portraying the character Carter Baizen from 2007 to 2010. During this period, he even shared romantic moments with Leighton Meester’s character on the show.

Ever since appearing on the show, Stan has gained widespread recognition due to his portrayal of Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel films like Captain America and Avengers. He’s also appeared on Disney+’s The Falcon and Winter Soldier alongside Anthony Mackie, and on Hulu’s Pam & Tommy.

It’s surprising to think it’s been over 10 years since Duff appeared as a guest on GG. During her six-episode stint, she played Olivia Burke, a well-known actress, who developed a romance with Dan while they were both at NYU. She also became notorious for engaging in a threesome with Dan’s friend, the not-so-solitary Boy, and his pal Vanessa.

After that, Duff has been the lead in her successful TV shows, “Younger” and “How I Met Your Father”. She was preparing to reprise her role in Lizzie McGuire’s platform sandals for a Disney+ revival, but unfortunately, it didn’t materialize due to conflicting creative ideas.

In the year 2019, the singer known as “So Yesterday” got married to musician Matthew Koma. Together, they have three daughters named Banks, Mae, and Townes. Apart from them, she is also a mother to her son Luca, who was born during her previous marriage with Mike Comrie.
